26. What a great story.
Too hilarious.

I was right...he DID go to the Yankees game Thursday! I noted replaying my Countdown tape from earlier tonight that he said he'd been in LA since Saturday and he hadn't seen Osama there, so that naturally led me to think "So he DIDN'T take off all that time just to go to LA..." Sure enough, he was cherchezing le baseball! Sometimes the man is just so predictable...

38. Oh, dzika can do it that fast,
if he's got his DVR running. He is a magic worker! But he is so generous with all of the political video capture he does for DU'ers that we don't ask him for KO screencaps very often. Actually, he usually "just knows" what we want and shows up with it -- the Mary Carey stuff the other day, for example. Dzika is extremely cool!

I planted two Rhododendrons, one Oleander, a flat of Nicatina and a few other flowers today so am wiped out. The ground was like rock since it hasn't rained in a while. Please don't let it rain Sunday though because I am taking Wedding pictures with another pro photographer. I am her back up. It is an out door wedding on the bay...please no rain.

Hugs to all, have a good night and great day tomorrow.

48. Join the club
The VCR taped, however, there was a big five alarm fire downtown last night and our local news had a full hour of coverage during the time it should have bee taping Leno. I waited all day to come home and watch, settled in and BAM -- an hour's worth of fire coverage. It's not even as though there were people in the building. How long can you look at flames? I'm really, really ticked off.

I tried. I was in the midst of massive headaches from my husband trying to poison me last week, but I stayed up anyway to watch, and then - 5 alarm fire news coverage.

Stupid news. That fire wasn't the hottest thing on tv.

I was livid when I started watching the tape and then I fast forwarded and as it went past 20 minutes I realized they were going to cover that frickin' fire for the whole hour. Geez -- fire is fire -- get over it, people.

He was home from work last week, and every day made a huge pot of coffee, which he served up with Baileys. Not just regular coffee, but freshground. Bastard.

He knows how I am with caffeine.

45. So glad you started this thread Berry !
My laptop crapped out during Keefy/Alison last night, so I settled into a movie hoping I'd stay awake enough to enjoy the KO on the Leno later. Woke up a 6am...rats. Great thread, looks like Keith rocked as always.

Wonder why he's never on Conan or TDS? NY based and all, probably a bigger pro-Keith viewership too!

I know CNBC is struggling, but does well with Conan repeats, why not Keith and SNL too....all in the NBC family :)

46. and he seems to be a night person...
he was great on Leno. Full of snark, although he had his poker face on, so some of the snark sailed right over the audience's head. I think they're used to more obvious humor, i.e, "Joke's right here, folks." They seemed to catch on after a bit, though. And his response to the ESPN question got to me. He had to know the "there was some bad blood there" question was coming and answering it in this very quiet little voice as if he was trying to make himself as small as possible while admitting the Bad Thing -- oh, this is so like my daughter that I almost laughed out loud.

54. Yeah, it's too bad some of them didn't catch his snark.
And his comment on ESPN did remind me of a little boy who knows he done a bad t'ing. :-) At least SOME bad t'ings. :-)

Anyway, I thought he did great. Although the one MJ joke did border on poor taste! But that's our Keef...sometimes he skirts the edge!

Did anyone notice during Jay's monologue that some of his jokes fell flat, most pointedly one that had to do with "Hey, we're at war, there's no real reason" and so on? I wondered whether the audience wasn't laughing because it made them think too much about the fact that we're at war for no real reason? I mean, yeah, for some it could be because they disagreed with the statement, but for others it just could have been thinking "Yeah, we ARE at war for no good reason...and it's not funny."

55. I think that's why Leno's jokes about the war fell flat
because the war is an increasingly unfunny topic for so many... perhaps he wasn't attuned to that shift. The shift is definitely there, though, and growing. Thank heaven for small mercies.
