My long, personal nightmare is over
Edited on Sun Apr-06-08 03:01 PM by SharonRB
My mother passed last night peacefully in her sleep.

We had a rushed service at 1:00 this afternoon so they could get her body to the airport by 2:30 to make a flight to Newark. Then they'll take her to Kennedy to get on a flight to Israel at 2:20 a.m. tomorrow. My father is catching a 5:00 flight to Newark and two of my nieces, one from Baltimore and one from Lakewood NJ will meet him there and take him to Kennedy and spend a few hours with him before he boards that early a.m. flight to Israel. She will be buried after they arrive in Israel at about 7 p.m. tomorrow night, Israel time.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time for me and my family. It's helped to know I have so many friends in cyberspace. I love you all.

7. I am so sorry and my heart goes out to
you and your family. It is so hard to lose a loved one even when it is expected. I never believed it was any easier if you knew it was coming though there is that normal, justified relief that our loved one is no longer suffering. Missing is still missing though. Sending lots of :hug:s and healing thoughts your way.
For you- http://www.jacquielawson.com/viewcard.asp?code=1496269398732&source=jl999

8. My dearest Sharon,
I was so saddened to read the news. You certainly have my deepest sympathy. Cherish the memories, and keep her close to your heart always. She's at peace now, with no more suffering and no more pain. It's gonna be hard the first few weeks but in time you'll know that God knew best to call her home.

You can PM me anytime, and I have you on my prayer list.

May the Lord keep you and the family at this difficult hour.

Love Always,
Shelly S. a.k.a. RavensChick

9. If I knew the words to say to take the pain away I would .....
.... but sadly I am lacking in that skill but I am glad that
her suffering is over and the peace your family will have
knowing that her body will now rest for the rest of time
in Israel. I also hope that you are taking care of yourself
too.

Now I do have to get started on myself. With the coming warmer weather, I'll finally be able to get outside to walk and try to get back in shape. It's been a very rough winter, both emotionally and physically.

I appreciate the offer. You're so right -- it's all there. The pain, the relief and the sadness. I'm glad she's at peace now, but it's so difficult for the rest of us.

I'll be at home all week for visitors. If you're interested in stopping by, PM me and I'll send you my address. You're the only one in the KOEB who could actually come here in person, and it would mean a lot if you could do it.

21. Sharon I just got your message as I was boarding the plane to come back from
California. I'm so sorry for your loss. You and your family have been through so much these past months, with your mom's sudden illness. She is at peace now and it is beautiful that she is being brought to a place she loved for her final resting place. My heart goes out to your dad for his long journey and to have lost his life's companion. I will speak with you soon. Until then, all my love, again, I'm so sorry, as much as mere words can express.

31. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
The loss of a mother is especially difficult. My mom died about two years ago, and I still miss her. Just try to remember her when she was healthy and vibrant, and know she's at peace now.
Big  to you.
