1. Hi Rev
I made it right on time tonight! :hi: :loveya: Keith.

I am loving this female reporter. She just said that all this might wake them from their slumber. :woohoo: There is hope for us yet!

I got to listen to Air America today (on my way home). Everyone is abuzz about this - and somebody is going to go down. (Please - let it be Rove!)

courtesy of her Rethug friends. A nice house with English gardens, a little hush money, perhaps.

6. I was listening to Air America on my way home too and
They brought up some good points. What, exactly is she testifying or not testifying about? Did she take the fifth or did she just refuse to testify?

They were making the point that Felt was different. He was a whistleblower, exposing a crime. What Miller is doing is harbouring a fugitive and obstructing justice.

I was glad to hear that obstructing charge being said out loud, both there and by our wonderful Keith!

Glad to have you join us spooky3! :hi:

70. It doesn't matter what the journalist is doing...
...one man's crime exposure is another's obstruction of justice.

That's why journalists deserve shield laws.

Sorry, but as an old J-school vet I have to part company with you on this one. Note that even Keith, although he mentioned the obstructing charge, is on Miller's side in principle--or he would have chosen a different "World's Worst Person." He realizes that if you don't shield journalists who might be charged with obstruction of justice for protecting their sources, you also can't protect those trying to expose crimes.

Consider a theoretical journalist of 1950 who refused to reveal a "source" who was identified in a story only as a member of the Communist Party. Such a journalist could easily be jailed and charged with all manner of crimes, simply for refusing to name a Communist.

As for tonight, I don't think he has to hold a "World's Worst Person" contest. I think we all know who the winners would be, hands down. *sigh*

64. Actually, last night's "C'mere" moment was a bit less intense
because he was curling his lips inward and being so mocking about it.

But still...I was sitting there babysitting the nieces (who were kind enough to let me watch my own TV until 9 pm this time around rather than subjecting me to endless Disney Channel programming) and thinking "My tape at home better be working."

And I liked it so much I even stayed up for the re-air. Thinking "I sure hope he's not planning on having a 'C'mere' moment every night from now on. I don't think my constitution can take it." :loveya:

68. Nice theory, but I actually made it through this one better than the first
Perhaps because not only was he more snarky when he did it, but he did the conventional "finger crook" rather than the upper-lip tap.

I spent half the previous night asking myself "Who on earth have you ever seen before who ever told you to 'come over here' by TAPPING HIS UPPER LIP? Saying 'C'mere' softly and tapping your upper lip means only one thing in my body-language dictionary...'Plant one right here, sugar!'"

Even so, Keith is going to have to stop doing this every night (I don't imagine he will tonight, for sure, but I am concerned about the future) or I may have problems staying conscious during the entire program.
