What KO Did on His Summer Vacation! |
|
In skimming some of the posts, I noticed this had been discussed a bit. But what's the real scoop? Did he attend the ESPYs? What about the All Star Game?
Of course, there are always these possibilities:
(1) Secretly covered the running of the bulls in Spain. KO finally gets his special: "Where is there more bull...Spain or the Bush White House?"
(2) Attends an underground "Funky Pointless Robot" convention in Japan.
(3) Goes on a spiritual retreat with those artists that did "The Gates" in Central Park.
(4) Tries to attend the "Cheese Run" in England, only to be told he's too tall to compete.
and the one I really wish was true:
(5) Comes to the not-so-great Northwest to offer personal grief counseling to a certain Mariners fan, who is coping with the fact that anytime we get a good player, they will most likely become a Yankee. (A-Rod? Randy Johnson?)

Oh, well, it could be worse...it could be the Redneck Olympics. (Actually, I think that would be a kick to go to!)

3. Truth be told, we don't know any more than anyone else. |
|
Some of us just figure, the All-Star Game was a pretty damn good bet for the first half of the week!
And actually I wouldn't have been surprised if he were invited back to the ESPYs, as another fence-mending gesture.
As for the bulls...well, he at least gave them their due before thy died. But I don't know whether anyone could tell whether Spain or the White House has more bull.
Robot convention? Possible. After all, we know how deprived he feels because of not having gotten a robot the way all those books back in his childhood promised him he would one day have (not to mention all those hours spent watching "The Jetsons" and "Lost in Space").
I can't really see him on a spiritual retreat with Christo and Mrs. Christo. Naah, in that case he might have to wear "saffron" robes in that hideous color.
"Cheese Run"? I would love it. But eventually the Rev would catch him.
As for your last suggestion: "Comes to the not-so-great Northwest to offer personal grief counseling to a certain Mariners fan, who is coping with the fact that anytime we get a good player, they will most likely become a Yankee. (A-Rod? Randy Johnson?)" Hmm. Well, you can look on the bright side--if they DO become a Yankee, they will suck! And if it makes you feel any better, I can offer you comfort that a certain other team took Omar Vizquel and even though we never did give him back before we lost him to San Francisco, we really, really appreciated him while he was around.

4. "eventually the Rev will catch him?" |

 Dear one, I believe that I'm the one rolling down the hill! Therefore, I would be the one "caught."
He could combine the cheese run and the spiritual retreat by coming to Wisconsin and "communing" with a certain pastor.... O8)
