In honor of Tom Cruise...a "March of the Penguins" review!
(As an explanation..."March of the Penguins" is outgrossing "War of the Worlds" on a per screen basis).

What a movie! I was awestruck from the first frame. The cinematography is amazing, and it has everything...humor, romance, sadness, and really cute birds! The story of these birds' life cycle is amazing. I can't recommend it enough. (For those of you with little ones...or, like me, who are total softies...the "circle of life" stuff is VERY tame. You do see some dead penguins, and one being eaten by a seal, but it's not graphic or bloody.)

My only grumble? WHY do people talk during movies? A family in front us brought their four year old, who asked questions and yakked through the whole thing. Don't get me wrong: I worship the ground my three year old niece walks on. But come on! For ten bucks, I want to at least hear the dang thing, ya know?

1. Maybe I'm an old softy but I'm still sad
about this poor orphaned polar bear shown on another wildlife show.

2. People talk during movies because they forget
that they are not at home watching it on their TVs via VCR/DVD.

Very annoying. People have completely forgotten their movie manners because of too much home movie-watching.

a theater. Every thought that crosses her mind falls out of her mouth and she apparently thinks non-stop. :7

on edit: once a month at church, they have Family Movie Night, and we do take her to that. Chaos, complete and utter chaos it is sometimes, but the movie's free and the food is reasonably priced and raises funds for the youth group. Best of all, Someone sleeps late the next morning. ;-)
