KOEB 8/17/05: Will it be two days in a row??? Dare we hope???
Hey, there was no newsletter today, which makes me a bit scared. Either Carey Fox is out sick/on vacation or we're not going to see THIS tonight:

Wait...what's that I hear??

"SSSSSHHHHHH!! Don't go spreading nasty rumors about me not being in tonight! At least not until you know for sure!"

OK, OK, Keith...then you DAMN WELL BETTER SHOW UP!!!!!!

1. See what you get, Keith?
It's "the boy of who cried wolf" too many times. Now the KOEB has gone missing. *sigh* At least I'm here with ya, buddy. :loveya:

2. Where is everyone?
I'm on one of my last few days as a woman without a partner in tow and I was going to party with you guys!

Geesch - trying to whittle down my clothes and shoes is a pain in the ass. I simply don't have much closet space in my 1954-built home. Gonna have to buy an storage chest of some sort.

And I can relate, Clark. Moving last year really bit...I got rid of a lot before I left...and I STILL have too much stuff for my apartment!

At least if he's gonna be a pimp, let him wear a purple suit and a big hat with a feather in it.

I put a candle in my window, in solidarity, and hung out my "Peace" welcome sign.

with NO CLOSET SPACE.

I would have liked to vigil, but I simply don't have time.

I do know that SOMEONE is looking at engagement rings because SOMEONE wants to know what size my ring finger is. :loveya:

:woohoo: Don't be surprised if one of your rings suddenly goes missing for a day or two. :loveya:

I've lived in too many parsonages where closet space was non-existent. That's when I learned to use the closets in the other bedrooms. Now I have more closet space, but also more clothes, so all the closets are still full. :P

10. I know about that - but after two - going on three boxes - I still only
have a half a closet. The other ones are full, too. He needs more space than a half a closet because he has to dress up to go to work (insurance salesman - yeah, yeah, yeah, that's evil, but he sells Progressive, too!). I think we'll get an Army footlocker to store sweaters in the laundry room, but, geesch... I'm having to throw out SHOES, damnit, SHOES!

Oh well, I haven't worn some of them in two years, anyway.

And, I already know about the ring. He talks to me all the time - about everything. LOL! He's looking at a carat and discussing with his friend who's getting married in October how much weddings cost. And he asked if it would be easier for my Mom to watch my kid during or after the school year. I'd have to be blind not to figure it out. :)

I just bought myself a new wedding band this last weekend. I feel kinda bad about it, but I really prefer the new $11 version over the one that set the hubby back a few thousand.

36. because people used to own far fewer clothes
washing was such a laborious task that you were more likely to wear a garment more than once. If you don't have several sets of clothes, you don't need that much closet space.

The "labor-saving" washing machines actually created more work for housewives because now people wanted a fresh shirt every day -- instead of putting on a fresh undershirt and attaching clean collars and cuffs.

and jeez. I thought Rita had the new highest-rated MSNBC show. Why does she need Keith to help plug her if her ratings are so high? He didn't even break 300,000 last night himself. :-(

11. OMG - the second worst person thing happened to us!
My ex was born and raised in Michigan and the ONLY time he was ever out of state was his 4 years of military service. The we came back to Michigan for him to go to school on the GI bill at the University of Michigan.

Same thing happened to us - they wouldn't give him the in-state tuition rate. We had to get Senator Levin's office involved to get that straightened out.

How much did they earn for that in bad publicity, vs. what it would cost them to just let the guy pay in-state tuition...talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face...

30. His office made some phone calls
and it was straightened out in a few days - we spent weeks arguing with the university with no luck before that. Somehow I just figured it was a fluke - I didn't think about it being done to veterans all across the country.

12. Off topic, but still good: Keith ripped Limbaugh a few extras.
Today's Worst Person (?) in the World: Rush Limbaugh, for saying Cindy Sheehan's story is made up of forged documents. Said Keith: "I guess she just made up that dead son." He then noted that drug addiction probably kills the ethics along with the brain, or something to that effect.

Go, Keith!

Let's see:

--The "did we know about the 9/11 terrorists a year before 9/11" story

--Very sad story of the guy killed by the cops on the London subway last month. Independent investigation has shown that he did NOTHING--absolutely NOTHING--to warrant any suspicion of him, or to warrant his being gunned down and killed. Horrible. Even sadder, he was being spied on earlier by at least one guy who was too busy relieving himself to take a picture of him and send it to others--if he had, they would have seen they were tailing the wrong guy and called off the whole thing. Tragic and outrageous.

--The BTK killer as he is about to be sentenced. More horror. Fortunately Countdown didn't get into that as much as the MSNBC Web site did earlier today, in terms of detail as to what a sick puppy this guy is. Sadly this appears to have served only as a way to get Keith to pimp Rita's show, as he had to do a remote to her.

--Great Oddball. Penguin reviews Norwegian guard, the first car chase in ages (and yes, everyone should also drink when Keith says "THE BIG HOUSE!"), a guy bungeeing off a tower in New Zealand with WIRES ATTACHED?? Funny Top 3 Newsmakers too. In one, Keith reported that Playgirl readers allegedly have said love handles are sexy. He accused "love handles" of stuffing the ballot box: "...no, uh, that was me."

--More serious stuff: Gaza evacuations, yet more horribly killed Iraqis, the sad state of electrical power in Iraq. Keith pointed out that if the media aren't doing a "balanced" job of telling the "good news," it's because the news in Iraq isn't so good when there are only at best four hours of electricity per day. People are hotter than Hades. Sure makes me feel rich, here in my too-small apartment with the AC cranking whenever I want.

--The lung cancer screening test that catches very tiny tumors but also can result in lots of false positives--and more quit-smoking tips, including one from a woman who said that the orgy of ciggies she smoked the night before her last quitting attempt made her so sick she hasn't been tempted to light up since. (She was going to force herself to eat butts before allowing herself a ciggie. Hasn't had to even go that far.)

Worst Person in the World: as you can see, Rush Limbaugh, for his claim that Cindy Sheehan is nothing but "forged documents." Keith: "Must have made up that whole dead-son-in-Iraq thing." :sarcasm:

Last but not least: some rather weak and unconvincing psychiatrist saying that he thinks people's "memory" of being abducted by aliens is just a residual memory or dream or imagining of regular human surgery. You know, all they can remember is that the aliens had big eyes...well, that's because all they remember of the surgeon's faces are their eyes because of the masks, etc. I don't know. I thought his theory was limp. I kind of expected that Keith might be "abducted" at the end of the show, but it didn't happen. Good thing, I guess; he could've used that as an excuse to stay out the rest of the week!

on edit: Keith also mentioned that Camp Casey is moving to the land closer to the White House that is being offered for that use by the sympathizer to the cause who owns it.

Just finished watching the tape. That penguin was adorable! (I tell ya, gang...if you haven't seen "March of the Penguins", GO. It's adorable. Best movie I've seen this year.

As for the love handles and chest hair...hm...does someone we know resemble that remark? Just asking. (Uh oh...I'd better go do another entry on Rev's Confessional Post. I think we may need to make that a daily feature here.)

Monday was a condo meeting. Yesterday I watched but couldn't post and be rude to guest and tonight was a Marlins game. I think I'll finally get a chance to be here tomorrow in real time.

I was also worried about the "no newsletter" -- usually a bad sign. Glad to hear he still has a job. :)

I'm going to try and watch the replay. I'm not sure I'll be able to make it all the way through.

:hi:
