Just spoke to a cousin, who had talked to her sister in Amite, who took a truck in to Franklinton and confirmed that everyone there is OK. No direct word from the family but apparently there was a lot of trees down, lots of wind damage, but no flooding and as far as we know now, no injuries.
::: BIG SIGH OF RELIEF :::
I still feel bad for Nawlins but at least I am not about to FREAK, worrying about family.

What a relief. One of the tragic consequences that we don't really think about is the effect on loved ones. Not knowing and fearing the worst can be torture. I am really glad that everything turned out ok.

and I got some good news of my own. A friend who lives in Diamondhead, MS (not far from Bay St. Louis) and decided to weather out the storm at home is okay. Some roof damage to the house, but the people and critters are okay, which is what counts.
