Never been in a hurricane but I grew up and have always lived in the Missouri-Mississippi River valley, seeing that ugly water inundating NOLA is sooooooooooooo depressing. Just could'nt watch it or talk about in anymore until today. Why did'nt our first fool Blivet institute martial law two days ago? Will we ever know how many people died waiting for help? Where are all the super-patriots and super-christians? Just some questions I have.
I always wanted to tell everyone what they told me at the MDA clinic today: the Jerry Lewis Telethon will be helping the Red Cross raise money Labor Day. St. Louis area firefighters were out today collecting for the Red Cross, too. Tomorrow they will be collecting for the MDA.
So, if you want to donate to either, here's an easy way to do it.:)

3. Thumbs up to Jerry Lewis |

for including relief for the victims of Hurricane Katrina in his annual telethon. He could have easily have said "Can't be done" since the planning for each year's telethon begins after the past year's is concluded, but he did. If a freakin' comedian can change course so quickly, why the hell can't our government?????
