Folks, please help counteract the misinformation going around re: Keith!

I noticed there were at least a couple of DU threads last night in which people misinterpreted Keith's signoff (the farewell to Neal Shapiro) as Keith's way of saying either that a) Keith was quitting or b) Countdown was going off the air.

In fact, some people are even getting confused and thinking it was Neal Shapiro who yelled at Keith after his antismoking tirade, and not Rick Kaplan. They are jumping to the conclusion that Keith is about to be fired, or is stepping down, because he got crap for his editorial the other night. In fact, that's how some of them misinterpreted his statement that he was going to stop "wasting the viewers' time." (They didn't understand that he was just saying that SHAPIRO, being modest, would regard Keith giving HIM public thanks for supporting Countdown as "a waste of the viewers' time.")

Please, if you see this misinterpretation of things repeated ANYWHERE today, counteract it with simple facts! Right now emotions are running high, and people are imagining hearing all kinds of stuff and misinterpreting all kinds of things. (I know that several DU'ers believed sincerely that Keith demanded the bliv's resignation or impeachment in his editorial...which he did not.)
