Want to do something to really help Katrina victims?
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 07:02 AM by WolverineDG
I saw this post yesterday by anarchy1999. Apparently, one of the Veterans for Peace buses made a detour to after Katrina, trying to get to New Orleans to help out with donations & supplies sent to Crawford & got as far as Covington. There, they have set up Camp Casey III, "Same Camp, Different Ditch." They need donations of $$ & supplies, as well as volunteers. FEMA tried to chase them out (where have we heard THAT before?) but the Red Cross backed them up & so they remain. Word of warning, if you do go to volunteer, realize you will be camping out at this point & you will need to bring food & supplies for yourself. Here's the link to anarchy's post which includes the Veteran's for Peace website.

I kicked in $50 last night & will be picking up supplies to send to them this weekend. So, if you want to ease your frustrations and help put an end to the horror in Louisiana, please kick in for this group! :patriot:

2. Wish I could take credit for that
but I can't. :) Same idea, different place. Apparently, they are going to be there for a while & as more supplies & volunteers come in, they will be opening up more camps. :)

For all the folks who went to Crawford, felt the positive vibes there & asked "What do we do next?", THIS IS IT!!!
