1. Thanks for sharing!
Anderson Cooper has done a fantastic job with the on-site Katrina coverage. I like Keith a lot too, he has the best snark :)

2. Oh, Keith's my fave, by far.
Yet, I totally admire Anderson. He totally owned this story from day one. And he just gets better and better.

3. actually, I think it's the other way around
the story's owned Anderson. One thing's for sure. Ain't no administration ever gonna have an easy time snowin' Anderson in the future after the disconnect he's seen between reality and Bushworld with respect to New Orleans.

4. OK, I confess. All the sudden Cooper-worship is beginning to bug me.
Why? Because the media pundits who paid NO attention to cable news before two weeks ago are suddenly all over it like white on rice...and who are the two guys they seem to be paying ALL the attention to? Shep Smith and Anderson Cooper! That's almost IT!

Tom Shales is even saying that CBS needs to put Coop in the anchor chair. Why? Because he "has a heart" and will help them build a younger audience!!!!

*cough* *cough* I can think of someone ELSE who also resembles that remark *cough cough* but rather than even consider him, all the networks without permanent anchors do is try to figure out which of their CURRENT reporters deserves to be promoted! Or should they just keep doing business as usual?

And when a cable news guy's name finally IS mentioned as being major network-worthy, whose is it? Anderson Cooper!!

Sorry, but this is bugging me. It will be hard to put his portrait on the wall behind the KOEB Clubhouse Bar next to David Gregory's.

5. The Coop gets lots of cred from me
for willing to be real on the air. Ditto Shep Smith -- and on Faux, no less. Keith's role in the Katrina coverage has been back at the anchor desk-- very different role, IMO.

6. It's a different role, but the fact that it's less dramatic and showy
should not be a detriment to its recognition.
