KOEB 9/26/05

Happy happy joy joy! It's time for someone's vacation to end!

But...where is he?? I see an empty desk.

All right...WHERE IS HE???

Wait, what's that I hear? The sound of a baritone voice raised in song?

"...Buy me some peanuts and Craaaacker Jack, I don't care if I EVER get back--"

"Uh, Keith?"

*sigh* "Yes?"

"WE care."

*sigh*

"Come on, Keith. Playtime is over."

*sigh* "If you insist..."

"Hi there. Peace be with you. Welcome to Countdown."

And there was much rejoicing!

Go at it, KOEB'ers!

Including the killer dolphins!

Not killer dolphins but .....
..... Tranq Guns!

good thing flipper does not have cuffs. Lord knows how many
divers might end up in some sort of weird sex swing in Dallas.

I get it Crispi let 'em go ..... and they work for fish too.

My cable just went out.

Snark for me.

Do you think the snark could generate enough energy to shock it back to life? It may be possible.

Here come the dolphins...

28. It is back on!
did I miss the dolphins w/ tranq. guns?

"'My concern is that they have learnt to shoot at divers in wetsuits who have simulated terrorists in exercises. If divers or windsurfers are mistaken for a spy or suicide bomber and if equipped with special harnesses carrying toxic darts, they could fire,' he said. 'The darts are designed to put the target to sleep so they can be interrogated later, but what happens if the victim is not found for hours?"'

You could not make this stuff up no matter how long you stayed @
Gull Bay.

LOFL! One of the best lines in that film.

Hello, all! It seems our man is back and full of spit and vinegar. Excellent.

Between the Cindy Sheehan story, the Michael Brown/FEMA story and the other ones in the tease, GD is gonna be poppin' with KO threads tonight.

:loveya::loveya::loveya::loveya:

81. funny story from DC saturday night
we had taken over the front portion of RFD's & they had 2 tv screens going, showing sports. like, whatever. :eyes: then for some reason, they switched over to abc, which was showing some sort of hurricane special. each time shrubbie came on the screen, we all booed. loudly. as long as shrubbie was on the screen.

then, the channel was changed, just in time for sharon to see michigan lose. :(

You are thinking a bit too far ahead, methinks. :-)

KO would probably attend the series whoever plays the Cards so I will stand outside Busch stadium on Olberwatch! (Impossible to get tickets.)

104. Don't be so sure.
He didn't go last year...he just stayed doing Countdown and griping about the Bosox from a distance. So you better hope THEY don't make it.

LOL. 36 trained dolphins with tranquilizer darts and a Manimal joke. But wasn't Patrick Duffy "The Man fom Atlantis"? Still any Manimal joke is a good Manimal joke.

82. Unfortunately Keith missed the most OBVIOUS REFERENCE OF ALL...

The classic WWII-era story of a fish-obsessed wimp who falls into the ocean at Coney Island, magically transforms into a fish, and becomes a war hero by helping sink German U-boats.

An inspiration to armed dolphins everywhere!

So good to see him return to the old form. Keeping his knees loose, throwing paper, snarking up a storm. All is well again.

:toast:

p.s. Loved "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" as a kid. Now, not so much. :)

Lord, how I missed him.

Lord, how I missed this.

I feel a song coming on:

"Hello, Keithy
Well hello, Keithy
It's so nice to have you back where you belong
You're lookin' swell, Keithy
I can tell, Keithy
You're still glowin', you're still snarkin', you're still goin' strong
I feel my heart swaying
While Countdown is playing
Some old icky Seventies song from way back when (Afternoon Delight!)
No more crap, ladies
Find him an empty lap, ladies
Keithy won't ever go away again!"

...well, at least not until the playoffs, anyway. :-(

98. Welcome back KO. I watched tonight but didn't post because I then
watched Scorcese's AMAZING documentary on Bob Dylan that I never would have known about if Keef hadn't had a report about it. We really need another Bob Dylan now, the times are so eerily similar without the cathartic music. He really was channelling something we need channelled again. Just an amazing movie. Four bunny stars.

Glad to have Keef back.
Not really glad to have Oddball back though.
Ok, I liked the fishing chimp in the red shirt. And who knew they could find a Lyle Lovett chimp bumper song.

KO was very funny with the dolphin story at the end. Keep your knees loose.

Hello to all you brave and wonderful KOEB activists who went to DC this weekend. I can't wait to read downthread and find out all about it.
