how Ohio deserves all the dead soldiers it gets from Iraq, because we're all a bunch of stupid country hicks who only care about God, gays and guns, and we elected * and stuck the rest of America with him.

Like hell (or more to the point, like Blackwell) we did.

It must be REAL misery sitting there practically in his backyard and being assumed to be his fan just because of geographic proximity.

There are some unfortunate nasty elements of DU who (and I regret this) are Exhibit A that freepers always point to when trying to convince people that all liberals are big-city elitists with their noses in the air. They are NOT representative of all liberals or progressives, of course, but the freepers want to make it LOOK as if they are, because they are so easy to dislike.

Remember all the jokes right after the election from blue-state people about how they were going to secede from all the red states and take all the great, sophisticated culture with them and leave the red states with nothing but hayseed crap? Of course you do. :-( That was a really good example. They never seem to think of how they'd feel if they were visiting Europe and got crapped on because they were assumed to be a stupid hayseed who supported Bush just because they were American.

:blush: My best friend was Annie. I was "Mrs. Blackfoot," the indian who ripped out springs from the old sofa and called them "Bracelets." (that was my one line.) So, the 5'10" redhead had to go in early for full-body makeup, braid and spraypaint her hair, and take an hour-long shower after every performance. My one shot at a musical, and I end up fulfilling nasty racist stereotypes. :eyes: And my hometown is known as "The Land of Blackhawk."

Our "off-stage" time was spent slapping the teen boys who were groping us during the show. The irony: the two guys who were doing it are now fully out of their closets.

(even back then, I couldn't get groped by someone who knew what they were doing. :cry:)

Yes, they did some great caps tonight. Although I was kind of hoping they'd do something with the "Love Boat" music when reporting on the cruise ships.

I did notice an interesting inadvertent screen composition at one point. They had an image of one of the ships framed with the word "COUNTDOWN" at the top of the frame and right beneath that was the name of the ship: "Ecstasy."
