homeland to the Palestinians and until there is an independent state of
Palestine (I think Gaza & the West Bank with Jerusalem being an international
zone so that Jews can go to the wailing wall & Islamics can go to the
Golden Temple) true peace in the mid east will never happen.

Ariel Sharon went along way to firing up the violence that became the
infada (Spelling ????) by going to the Golden Dome and basically rubbing
the Palestinians nose in it. Also Sharon has allowed the massive deaths
of Palestinians on a number of times:

Jordan in the 1950s
Lebanon in the 1980s
and the insurrection in the occupied territories in the 1990s &
2000s

I consider myself a true friend to Israel but an honest one.
I also had a friend @ school who was Palestinian and he told
me how awful it was to grow up in the land of his great grandfathers
birth yet to have a gun shoved in his face many time in a week
as somebody asked to see his "papers."

Rightly or wrongly "we" are seen as doing Israel's bidding in the
mid east and there in lays the crux of "our" problems there.
Except that does not cover *'s dickheaded actions that have just
thrown gasoline onto the fire of hatred that is the mid east.

60. No hard feelings, I'm just very sensitive when people

sound anti-Israel and blame our problems on our support of Israel. If you're going to look at history, you need to go back even farther -- that land belonged to Israel first, centuries ago. I'm not saying the Palestinians shouldn't have their own state -- I think that's important for peace, but I'm not convinced it will help. They inherently don't want Israel to exist.
