http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117935609?categoryid=1682&cs=1&s=h&p=0Article is a critique of Anderson Cooper, but mentions Keith:
The truth is after stripping away the bluster and extraneous nonsense like People's "sexiest" list, Cooper is generally smart and polished, distinguishing himself with a wry on-air persona in addition to his boyish good looks. (That's not to underestimate his appearance, since MSNBC's Keith Olbermann is wry, too, and no one peppers billboards with his mug, though his recent guest shot on NBC's "Surface" was an exercise in dubious judgment.)Uh, two things wrong with this:
1. MSNBC DID pepper billboards with Keith's mug last year. And advertise him on the Web. Difference is, they did it without smarmily trying to make him look like "a journalist who is changed by the stories I do."
2. Would these high-minded critics get OVER the "Surface" cameo already? From the way some of them cry "sellout!" over this, you'd think Keith had advertised his services on hotnewsanchorstuds.com. Please! All he did was spend a few minutes on one of his parent network's shows trying to make one of its news programs look SLIGHTLY realistic--and the attitude he displayed toward the fictional characters in the show was anything but supportive or flattering! If that's the biggest journalistic sin he commits, I can live with it.
