4. GD is full of people who apparently do not have lives.
Or senses of humor. I mean, honestly!

8. I noticed that too ...
..G.D. seems to overreact to anything that makes fun of one's opinion, including Keith/Jon/Colbert/Black's. Unfortunately, most replies to those posts are just as mean :(

12. Naw, I've been bitch-slapped in the lounge too......
...I'm EVIL for suggesting kids should behave in public...LOL...I have 3 of them, plus twin grands. Love them all, but heaven forbid, I blame "other" parents for ruining my lovely dining out experiences :silly:

Otherwise, I love the Lounge, I go there often for mental pablum :hi:

15. i guess i'm evil too
i get hacked when people let their kids run around like wild animals in restaurants. kids are cute, but not when they come up to my table & sneeze in my food.

18. I dare you to start a Lounge Thread on that Topic ..lol..!!!
After spending 3 weeks with my almost 3-year-old twin granddaughers, I'm convinced if they can't behave in McDonald's, they failed the finer restaurant (like Shoney's, Denny's..etc) seating, not to mention even "finer" restaurants!

I realized, it's about being "3", not bad kids, but I do blame the parents for forcing toddler behavior on the rest of us!

19. honey if they can't behave well enough to be at a McDonald's
there's no way in hell you should take 'em anyplace nicer than that. Period. I have taken my five-year-old out of a restaurant for failure to behave, but I haven't had to do it in a looooong time. She's a quick learner and loves to eat out. :-)

I really don't remember taking my kids anywhere til they were "10", and they all seemed to survive to adulthood! To this day, they are all very successful, and I enjoy eating out with them !

21. oh i understand all that
but a kid old enough to be let loose in a restaurant is old enough to know it's rude to sneeze in someone else's food. :grr:

11. Sister, I hear you on the "drama queens" bit
sometimes, I think what DU needs is a good mood stabilizer or a tranquilizer or something. It's like some people live for the drama and will create it out of thin air, if necessary.

14. they can come to my house
where drama generates itself, what with trees deciding to end it all (including my fence) & cars deciding that my driveway is a good place to go to die & one dog getting upset that it was the other's turn to go get a bath & throwing herself at the door & carrying on as though i was beating her with sticks. lots of it to go around....

16. Or come visit us here in Dallas
where people STILL ask, "How was the party Executive Committee meeting? Was there blood?"

You know, I have a pretty high tolerance for drama but some people just seem to WANT to generate it out of the most useless stuff. Now, tossing out your county party chair, THAT'S drama.

honestly, dealing with 40 year old pecan trees that just can't take it anymore is loads more fun than ousting a party chair.

I closed the cat in with me while I took a shower and you should've heard the yowling! You would have called the Humane Society. He almost jumped into the shower with me he was so beside himself!

25. OK, true confession time.
People who bug me:

--People who say "You have no right to criticize how other people's kids behave because you have none, so you don't know how hard it is to get them to behave"

--People who think they should have the right to smoke anywhere they want, and if you don't like it, then you're being a hysterical advocate of "the nanny state"

--People who have to loudly declare at every opportunity how much they hate religion, that religion is responsible for all the evil in the world today, and that only superstitious and stupid people believe anything other than that when you die you just go into the ground and are food for worms and that's it. And then they beat you over the head with that Flying Spaghetti Monster stuff, which might be funny if they didn't use it like a sledgehammer to tell you that you're stupid if you believe in any kind of religion at all.

--People who have a double standard. You can laugh at Repugs, but not Dems. You can criticize Repugs, but not Dems. Whatever THEY do is ALWAYS right, or at least it's better than what those EEVUL Repugs would do. Ick, what a dualistic way of thinking. It is no better than Repugs always thinking what they do is fine and good and whatever Dems do is bad.

--People with no sense of humor.

--(I've said this one a million times before) People who live in blue states and therefore assume they are more educated, intelligent and sophisticated than ANYONE who lives in a red state, or who assume that everyone who lives in a red state loves * and helped elect him, hates gays, loves guns, etc. These people like to make your life miserable if you live in a place like Ohio ("you losers stuck the rest of us with him for another four years") or Texas ("Y'all must just LOVE him down there"). It's people like this who give liberals a bad name because they're constantly assuming themselves to be superior creatures to everyone else on the planet. Whereas conservatives know JUST how to counter that. "Why, don't let them nasty LIBRULS bug ya! Come on over to us! We're pork-chop-eatin', Sunday-go-to-meetin' JUST PLAIN FOLKS!" And people fall for it...until they learn better.

Anyway...rant over. Whew. For now, anyway.
