glad I missed the flambee dishes
and NO, I am not trying to reignite whatever happened after I went to bed last night, merely answer Berry's post as to why I think KO's been scarce. Yes, the fact that he hasn't blogged at all in a month and blogged sparingly in the months before that has made me wonder if he's been seeing someone. The time he spends actually writing any given blog entry is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the amount of time that blogging takes, because he reads the emails he gets in response to those blog entries. I've wondered lately if he's refrained from opining quite so frequently because he doesn't want to deal with the subsequent onslaught of email.

For one reason or another, Keith appears to be spending a lot less time in front of a computer these days. Maybe he's watching tons of sporting events. Maybe he's working on his "Worst Person in the World" book (although it seems to me that's basically writing itself on a day-to-day basis). Maybe he's dating. All of these possibilities occurred to me before Elle wandered by with her revelation, but I haven't really discussed it, for a simple reason: apart from missing his online presence, it doesn't really affect me one way or the other. It's his time, and he gets to spend it as he chooses.

1. Thanks, gk
I, too, just saw the locked thread and it was too late to respond. What Keith does with his time is his business, not ours. If he has a girlfriend, I'm very, very happy for him. Personally, I love watching his show, but I don't particularly care about his personal life or what he does with his time. When I'm not watching him, I'm definitely not thinking about him, other than perhaps in the context of something he said on the show.

I have a job and a life and worrying about whether KO is dating someone or not does not enter into the equation at all. I couldn't care less one way or the other.

4. I'm totally sick of him/her already
I couldn't care less about it and wish he didn't have to talk about it at all. Same goes for TomKat. Enough already! Let's hear real news.

5. Is that our first locked thread?
Were we locked during the WhirlyGirl/Shopaholic crisis? Wow. Who did Rev put on ignore? What did the deleted sub-threads say?? Damn I picked the wrong weekend to not be able to get to DU! :)

Keith, if you've got a girl, good on ya! Don't be a dork and don't screw it up.

My advice via "The American President: "Yeah, and compliment her shoes. Girls like that."

6. Yeah, we had a locked thread then too.
And I have a sneaking suspicion that this was just more of the same.

10. "Who did Rev put on ignore?"
Botany. He's getting a week on the wheel, and then she'll acknowledge him again. :7

Seriously... it was Elle, who comprehensively shat in her nest, and not just with the people she was "conversing" with. 'Nuff said. You picked a good weekend to be offline.

11. Just one of these:

Fortunately, we may not have to endure this shit again.
When someone becomes a habitual rule-breaker, they can have their posting privileges revoked in a specific group. (i.e., there are some people who cannot post in the Liberal Christians group, because they were naughty too many times.)

Hey, it's Skinner's playground, and them's the rules.

12. Yep.
Personally, I would attribute Keith's lack of blogging to having to watch so very many sports events in order to make himself sound halfway intelligent enough to discuss them knowledgeably on Dan's radio show. But whether he's taken up a girlfriend, the luge or Texas Hold 'Em is really not going to cause joy or devastation in my life.

Kids, the KOEB is supposed to be FUN. Anyone who messes with the fun is not welcome in my eyes. And one sure way to mess with the fun is to pretend that you've got "proprietary news" (with no proof) that is supposedly going to "ruin" the lives of the group members.

as if "girlfriend", "luge" and "Texas Hold 'Em" are three distinct activities. Just sayin'...

14. Hmm, now *there*'s a thought...
That's it. NOW we know why Keith's so busy. He's playing Texas Hold 'Em on a two-man luge with his girlfriend:

When you consider the position the riders have to be in on a two-man luge, it can't be easy to play Texas Hold 'Em at the same time. No wonder he hasn't had time to blog.
