133. Hi everyone and happy party!
Berry decided to REALLY be Berry After the Show tonight, so she could properly revel in the wonder of Keith.

My, he was in high spirits tonight. I wondered if the staff took him out for drinks before the show!

15. As a matter of fact, she is!
She moved into her new room today. Dad called me later, and told me how nice it was. He sounded relieved - I could hear it in his voice.

And the really nice part: the people there did all the moving for them, so Dad (and I) didn't have to do a thing! :)

34. That's wonderful, Rev.
My husband's 96 yr old aunt is in a wonderful assisted care living home in Utah. I love visiting
her- they have lots of activities and the people are kind to her. The last time I visited,
we played bingo and mopped up the candy!

It's such a relief to know that she has 24h care.

He'll go down in history as the worst pretender ever - one who was never legitimately elected to office, one who manufactured an enemy to take the nation to war, one who's destroyed a surplus economy....

It won't be flattering, but I assure you, he'll be remembered.

The first time I tried replying it hung up so have the answer to when your b-day is. Though if you are like me you don't tell anyone unless it is far enough away they won't remember. Too late though.

The only difference is my b-day isn't this time of year.

Look on the bright side. On Dan's show today, Keith said his b-day celebration consisted of having lunch with some friends and reading b-day e-mails from people including his family...one of whom (he would not mention the name) got the day wrong.

Uh, Jenna, I think you been busted. (After all, how could MOM ever forget? And Dad? Not likely.)

to post that picture of Norah.

Please note that nowhere on the show did Keith endorse the statements of any of the people to whom you objected. However, he actually has enough of a sense of fairness to allow them to speak their piece without shouting them down (unlike the Faux News gang).

And at least I didn't have to listen to Joe Scarborough as a "Hardball Hotshot" praising Oprah Winfrey for her apology and saying it was time someone stood up for truth again after all the lies a certain president told us...and he meant CLINTON... :puke:

Man, I was yelling at the TV! "WHAT ABOUT YOUR INTERN, JOE????? WHAT ABOUT *YOUR* INTERN????????"

*whew* I had to say that. Thanks.

on edit: Keith is getting a lot of DU crap flung at him tonight for admitting that maybe the Democratic Party isn't the most effective party in the world. Once again the accusations are flying that he's being "reined in by GE." :puke: Please go wander the threads and help show him some love. :-)

189. Clark, despite the fact that a joke isn't funny if it has to be explained,
here you go...

Keith claimed to be "not all here tonight" for various reasons (it's Friday, Chinese New Year is coming...yeah, Keith would be unstrung over anticipating Chinese New Year...right) and because he had supposedly bought a brand-new 2006 Taurus that was being delivered to him at the studio after the show, and called it a "sweet ride" and talked about how excited he was about driving it home. (This, despite the fact that more than a few of his fans know perfectly well that he doesn't drive, and why.)

Then the very first thing he did on Oddball was show footage of a backup on a highway, then said something line "Wait...that's SECUACUS!" And then a car trailer full of Tauruses was shown stopped on the highway...ON FIRE. With Keith screaming "Wait--MY NEW CAR!" And saying "Oh well, looks as if I'm WALKING back to the Lincoln Tunnel tonight!"

See? Joke. Based on the footage he knew he would be showing. He knew there's be a trailerful of Tauruses on fire in Secaucus, so he made a joke in which he implied that a fire had consumed his brand-new car.

And, at the end of it, acknowleged that he was pulling our legs and said "I don't even drive."

Oh well. I guess it was a bit complex to go over as well as he hoped. Especially because we're all so used to him disclosing personal anecdotes to us that our first instinct is to believe every word. Even when he says he's DRIVING home.

BTW - that white ford reference: wasn't someone driving Keith around in a white convertible in Gull Bay?

131. I'll have to find the threads from the first episodes for ya.
"Gull Bay" is our KOEB romance novel. Botany has a rather vivid imagination, so he's been writing fan fiction, staring the EDV's, the men who love them, the occasional BayAir (a bear from Gull Bay), some drop-in norwegian skiiers, and all the snark you can muster.

We keep forgetting we have added to our group. Sorry. :hi:

the Gull Bay threads in one link post? Then we can bookmark it, add the new ones to it and have it ready for each new EDV. Be a great welcome to the clubhouse gift.

188. the Bay Air came from a Sparky anecdote, if memory serves
When he was a child, he used to say "bay air" instead of "bear". As for the Gull Bay, I think Botany started that series after Hope had a thread where people were supposed amusing/uplifting links and someone posted a link to for Longmire Romance novels. I think that was the name... let me see if I've got a bookmark... YES!

http://www.worldoflongmire.com/features/romance_novels/

This is a website that has taken the cover art of actual romance novels and er, altered the titles. I think that may have been an inspiration for Gull Bay, but only Botany can say for sure.

167. And Keith gets to mail in the end of the show 'cause after all,
it's his birthday.

Happy Birthday, Suave Keith, Scruffy Keith and all the Keiths. Even if your main gift today from Dan's show was a big bonging bell sound to warn you when you are going off on one of your "side forays" of thought. Even if they joked that the crack MSNBC researchers told them you were 87 today and then they called you "Keith O'Reilly" and said you worked for Faux and played some weird warbling rendition of someone singing "Happy birthday, dear Christopher..."

We love ya. :loveya: Hope you're having a great day and will have a great year.

Pretty sure I'm going to fall asleep in a second, so I won't be around for the rerun either. See you all later!
