Don't you think it's interesting that Keith said
Edited on Sat Apr-30-05 01:10 PM by Greylyn58
that this woman who was missing in Georgia had an odd look in her pictures. I think he said her eyes were bulging and he stated he thought perhaps something was going on with her...that perhaps she decided she didn't want to get married.

Now we find out she did have cold feet and that was why she disappeared.

I find it interesting that Keith felt something fishy was going on, while Nancy Grace was already lynching the Fiance for killing her.

:loveya: Keith

1. It's because in addition to TALKING, he also LISTENS and OBSERVES.
Edited on Sat Apr-30-05 01:25 PM by WhirlyGirl
. . . If he weren't the anchor, talking might even come somewhere closer to the end of that list.

(I remember the words he used: he said her eyes were sort of bugging out. I noticed that pop-eyed expression she had -- but sometimes a physical condition causes that. Plus some people just photograph weird.)

2. That's true
there is a physical condition called Graves' Disease (I'm studying to become a medical transcriptionist - have to know these terms) :) It makes the eyes protrude, bug-out.

Of course, the other thing is, as you stated, she might just photograph that way.

5. KO Shout-out to WhirlyGirl!!
"And for all I know, that look in her eyes is the result of a medical condition, or a bad photographer, and, if so, I apologize."

From his new blog!

6. I've been trying to rhythm-logic KO by reading about baseball ...
. . . Apparently it's beginning to work!

7. "Rhythm-logic"? Why does there seem something vaguely salacious
about that term?

And I'm trying to picture really hard how this is supposed to work, and failing.

Are you saying you ran out of your house this evening screaming, "I'VE DONE IT! I'VE DONE IT! Let me explain. For the past day or so, I've been reading a book about baseball, and when I wasn't reading, I was watching TV and thinking about that poor missing woman on the news, and how maybe her eyes pop out like that just because she has a medical condition or something. And then this afternoon, I was just sitting around the house watching a movie on TV and thinking of nothing in particular, when...all of a sudden, I had the clearest mental picture pop into my head, plain as day! I had a perfectly clear mental picture of...of all people...JASON GIAMBI! And he was letting someone else go in and pinch-hit for him in a game!

"And then I get on the Internet, and I read this blog, and I realize...

"My God, I've DONE IT! I've achieved VULCAN MIND MELD with...!"

"...Er, uh, forget it, folks. Don't mind me. I'm going back in my house now. Have a nice evening." :-)

8. Berry you are so *intense*!
. . . No, "rhythm logic" was supposedly a technique which Hunter S. Thompson dreamed up for getting inside Richard Nixon's brain and basically understanding how Nixon saw the world.

Thompson figured out Nixon saw it in terms of football.

So Thompson REALLY got into football, ate, slept, talked and dreamed football until he was seeing the world in football terms. Then he was able to write about Nixon.

So the theory goes that if you want to understand a person, find out what he's really passionate about and immerse yourself in it (never mind the potential double entendre there) -- and then you will (according to the theory) start thinking like they think. With KO, I'm pretty sure the passion is baseball.

Hence my little quip, above.

10. Had a buddy back in the '70s who loved Thompson's writing. I was not yet--

. . . into gonzo journaism but he talked my ear off about it, so I almost feel like I was. :-)

How are you, -q-? Did you know the Clubhouse is ready for us to move the nightly show blog in here on Monday?

Here's what the bar looks like: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=315&topic_id=3344&mesg_id=3344

11. Yeah, I saw it!
It's loverly. I especially like the big screen TV!
I haven't had too much time to post lately. Right now I'm playing hooky from writing my last two papers of the semester.
Turns out there IS quite a lot of serious news today, but not the kind of thing that I ever want to hear or can do anything to help.
Mothers shooting, stabbing their children, and 7 adult greyhounds and 6 puppies burning to death in a kennel.
I'd prefer if the primadonna, racist, runaway bride were the only news.
:-(
In some happy family news, my mom found a stray cat with 4 kittens under her porch! I plan to drive up in a few days to see them, and I don't know how likely it is I'll be able to come home without one.
I'll see if I can get some pictures for you guys. From what my mom says, they sound SO cute!!

12. Sure, we can always use some kitties in the Clubhouse!
I remember what it was like, writing those term papers.

When it came time to write them at the end of the quarter I was so tired that when I got them back and read them, I went: "I wrote this? Hey, it's not half bad!" Writing papers in my sleep was my specialty. :-) :boring:

Come blog the show with us sometime near the end of the quarter, -q-; you'll be amazed the next day at what you wrote! LOL!

13. Gosh, whatever gave you the idea that KO's passion is *baseball*? LOL...
OK, so I get the idea...and I think it would work with me too, actually...

So, I understand how it can help you "get" how a person thinks. But how would it help you understand what they're thinking *about*? (besides their passion, of course)?

I mean, you're not giving the baseball idea credit for the fact that KO said the woman's eyes could be the result of a medical condition?

(And yeah, I can't help it, I'm intense. I find this fascinating.)

3. Perhaps Keith has resembled that remark
he recalls the feeling of bug-eyed panic from moments in his past...

"You mean you wanna get MARRIED?...Uh...I gotta go...my grandmother's on fire!"
