To Fox News Corp. hereafter referred to as FNC:

How long will FNC ignore the sad truth that Mr. O'Reilly's mental health is rapidly deteriorating (along with his ratings!) under the immense pressure of being wiser than anybody in the universe? To date he has displayed signs of 1) megalomania, 2) narcissism and 3) paranoia along with smaller bits of insanity from every classification in the DSM-III. We suggest that Mr. O'Reilly is too valuable to the U.S. of A. to be allowed to deteriorate further and that FNC should take The O'Reilly Factor of the air immediately so the poor man can take a sabbatical to regain his mental equilibrium. Mr. Donahue will surely be glad to fill Mr. O'Reilly's timeslot after all the good things Mr. O'Reilly has said about him! So we the undersigned request that Mr. O'Reilly give us a break, er, take a long break (about oh, say, till the year 2010 or thereabouts).

I agree entirely with this petition except for the part where you say Bill is valuable to the USA. Oh, and the part where you suggest he has any mental equilibrium to be regained. And where you want him to come back as soon as 2010 (come on, that's only four years away!)

the era of the blowhard political screamer is just about over. Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Coulter, et. al. have had their day in the sun and now it's buh bye. 3. Olbermann signs O'Reilly's Petition (C&L)

Keith responds to O'Reilly's ludicrous letter to MSNBC asking them to replace Olbermann with Phil Donohue and signs the petition on-air.

Countdown plays a bunch of O'Reilly's greatest hits and his "worst person of the world" awards. MSNBC spoofs it for almost nine minutes as other employees line up to sign the petition-while Keith does his best Ted Baxter impersonation. (dave reminded me in the comments.)
