Kurtz on KO
I want to scream what KO does is report the news.

By Howard Kurtz
Washington Post Staff Writer
Monday, April 3, 2006; 8:09 AM

Night after night, President Bush is being kicked, punched, slapped, poked, stomped and otherwise disrespected in one small corner of the cable television world.

And Keith Olbermann doesn't deny it has been good for ratings.

"I find myself currently aligned, not in the sense of having membership, but being in the same part of the ballpark as a lot of liberals," says the host of MSNBC's "Countdown."

Is Olbermann catering to the anti-Bush crowd? Since Hurricane Katrina, he says, a growing number of people have "had their eyes opened" to the administration's failings and do not see their points of view reflected in television news. "We have to be responsive to an audience's perception of the world or they will ignore us."

5. you know what I like better?
in that commercial last Friday, there was a brief shot where he's peeking around a threshold and you can see just the upper half of his body. Something about the facial expression in that shot was simply priceless.

6. Yeah, I just love the way he peers around that post so cautiously
and then smiles and steps out from behind it and stands beaming with his arms folded across his chest.

That footage is from the "I Promise" series of ads done for all the MSNBC hosts recently. Nice to see them recycle it for the "Where is the Love" ad.

2. Here we go again.
It goes without saying that The Washington Post needs some fresh perspectives in its media coverage. In other words, Kurtz has his finger in too many pies and isn't impartial enough to provide consistently good analysis.

I won't go into washingtonpost.com's recent debacle involving a blogger who is not only given to ad hominem attacks but a bona fide plagiarist. Way to keep up that PROUD LEGACY. :sarcasm: I hope Herblock and Mary McGrory haunt the guiltier members of the board and management.

3. This story is more bogus than the fake backdrop on that picture!
The ONLY good thing about it is the Kaplan quote (note to self: never say anything bad about Rick Kaplan again).

The rest? What a bunch of hooey. :puke:
