I hate what this war has done to the military especially the Marines in this story. My Dad served for 30 honorable years and his last post was Camp Pendleton. It's a very large base in California.

This whole story is sickening and the truth needs to come out regardless!!

hadn't seen before. It's very, very scary out there. Why can't we all just get along? I hate all the sniping at one another. This whole issue has really brought out people's true colors -- and they aren't very pretty colors in many cases. People are entitled to their opinions, but there's no need for name calling.

I'm almost afraid to be here when we get closer to election time. I wasn't here before the last one, but I know primary season and into the election will really get people fired up and at each other's throats. Everyone complains that the Democrats don't have a unified message, but judging from DU, I don't think it's possible. There are too many opinions -- you know, like getting 10 Jews in a room, you'll have 11 different opinions. Same thing with Democrats. That's the bad news and the good news at the same time. People just have to learn to respect each other without all of the name calling and arguing.

that many people on DU just read & post on DU. They don't do anything else. They aren't involved in their local parties, they don't write letters to the editor, they don't work on someone's campaign, & they don't donate to DU. They just sit around, piss, moan, & bitch about everything. And when they're bored, they dog-pile on someone, like liveoaktx or WillPitt or whoever the dog-pile-ee du jour is.
