3. Hi Bill & Patsela!
:hi: all!

And it looks as if we bought ourselves more than one new shirt last week, eh?...only, Keith honey, it does NOT go with that suit and tie combo.

Wonder if the cuffs are French.

And I love it when Keith can't cover Dan Rather without using a Rather-ism. My favorite is still "He was off faster than a calico dress on a West Texas prom night."

I admit, the AOL story is dear to my heart. I made the mistake of using one of their free disks about a decade ago, and soon learned that getting AOL to pry its damn fingers off you is harder than getting Bill O'Reilly to let go of his loofah. Luckily, I had an online friend who actually worked there who agreed to cancel my membership without putting me through all the hassle. Her brain hadn't been eaten by her employer yet. She actually believed that if you wanted to cancel AOL, they should cancel you--no questions asked!

27. From the gut.
Mr. President, my name is Stephen Colbert and tonight it's my privilege to celebrate this president. We're not so different, he and I. We get it. We're not brainiacs on the nerd patrol. We're not members of the factinista. We go straight from the gut, right sir? That's where the truth lies, right down here in the gut. Do you know you have more nerve endings in your gut than you have in your head? You can look it up. I know some of you are going to say "I did look it up, and that's not true." That's 'cause you looked it up in a book.

Next time, look it up in your gut. I did. My gut tells me that's how our nervous system works. Every night on my show, the Colbert Report, I speak straight from the gut, OK?

I'm going to put that one next to my "Swing and Sway with Sammy Kaye" recording, or perhaps have that slogan put on a t-shirt.

As for celebrity babies, it would be fine with me if I never heard actors/pop stars and conception, pregnancy, epidurals, labor, and/or cesareans mentioned in the same sentence again. In fact, as far as I'm concerned, they can all take vows of chastity AND silence, and that goes triple for Tom @&#!!! Cruise.

KO needs an appointment with Carson -- WTF is he wearing?

Just got home from helping with a mailing for Nancy Skinner -- the governor's endorsement is going out Friday!
As we were leaving the office, she invited me as her guest to a $250/person fundraiser at someone's house tomorrow night. I'm excited, but I have no idea what to wear.

A black sequined tank top under a black silk Dana Buchman blazer and black silk pants.

That might be just the ticket. Business-y with a touch of sequins.

69. Hey, did you guys know Rita Skeeter's doing a bunch of American Idol shows
????

Yes, she has hitched her wagon to that little ratings star.

So. Who's for canning her and replacing her show with an hour's worth of a camera focused on a suitcase full of rocks?
