LTTE from a jerk
Letter: Don't let Democrats rule Senate; vote for Burns

I've known Conrad Burns since when he worked at the sales yards and I hauled cattle there. He was always known as an honest trader and your stock would not be "rustled." He has mud and manure on his boots, and Christian decency and honor and integrity in his heart.

Now come the people who believe in murdering unborn babies and giving marriage away to the deviants, with their newfound sense of outrage, painting Burns to be sold out.

Burns took money from Abramoff like he took from a lot of others, but, it didn't mean he sold anything. We all liked the kind of government he stood for. I guess you would have to suppose that if he sold his vote, then Max Baucus, who got money, must have sold out, too. Is that kind of like when the big unions or the AARP gives to the Democrats?

I say to you Montanans, and especially to you Christians, if you give the Senate back to the Democrats, there will be three immediate things that happen. Taxes will be raised, Godless, activist judges will again be appointed, and this country will once again be without defense. The country will again turn to the U.N. to run things -- this outfit that has never brought about any "peace" in its 60 years of existence.

Christians, you might not like someone as well as you wish, but you better get out and vote, and you better try to hang on to this Republican Senate.

John H. Mellor
Broadus

7. With a Republican Senate
the tax burden has shifted even more onto the middle and lower classes, abortion is still legal and just as common of an occurance that it ever was, the country is not any safer now than it was on 9/12/01, and Christians are still "opressed" and "persecuted".

What have republicans done for the right wing Christians, anyway?

8. Christians, you might not like someone as well as you wish...
That's right.
I forgot.
Everything in this country, revolves around what Christians want, and what they don't want.
How silly of me.

As someone who is not a Christian, just spiritual, I guess I should just shut up and mind my own business.

After all, this is a Christian nation and they do know what's best for ALL of us.

Assholes.

10. And not only that: here's a comment from a puffed-up jackass
Lj wrote on April 19, 2006 2:22 PM:
"What a Joke: "The Christian right to me is nothing more than hypocrits and warmongers." Fair enough. Because alot of Christians think Democrats LIKE YOU are moral cowards as well as physical cowards. You would embrace slavery rather than die for freedom. You turn your backs on the millions of innocents being starved to death and slaughtered by thugs, dictators, and tyrants.Your own innocent countrymen were slaughtered and you condemn those that would fight back rather than sit back and let them slaughter more of us. You would NOT tell a radical Islamist you're "sick and tired of him justifying his actions in the name of Allah" cause you know he'd cut your throat and dance on your liver. But you know a Christian will let you vent your spleen, condemn him or her and you will live to see another day. There is nothing our enemies could do that would be bad enough to give you some courage to stand up and fight. And there is nothing that can be said or done to change you or your mind. Courage comes from within, and if you don't have it, you don't. At least you've been honest and let us know you don't have it. And when you think you might actually puke cause of "people like us", bring your own bucket cause we'll be too busy protecting your puking butt to clean up after you."

You kbnow, I'd love to have this guy say something like that to my face.

12. I don't understand
"protecting my butt?" My liberal butt. I just don't understand that; because I spent 24 years in uniform and served in a combat zone. "And there is nothing to be said to change my mind??" That suggests that there is something to change the letter writers mind. First thing I can think of is fuck with my constitution and I'll kick your theocracy loving ass mother fucker. I wonder if that would change his mind.

21. Send him something back about what the Democrats have given
this country. Like the Joe Republican one where he takes his clean air and water for advantage because a Democrat fought for it. And how Democrats are the ones who have been getting higher education for more people and more health care and consumer protection.

18. Puh-leeze...someone should write a response
and the first thing they say is "Who told John Mellor that the Republican Party was the party of God? George Bush and the Republican senate has appointed more activist judges than any other president in decades, and these are the activist judges who uphold the bible in their personal interpretation rather than the Constitution.

Why would any real christian or Republican participate in a corruption scandal? Is there some sort of bible verse they've missed along the way, strangely memorizing the half dozen they claim proves that God hates gays but miss the commandment about bearing false witness or stealing from their neighbor?

Obviously, whatever god Mr. Mellor thinks we've put into Washington is most certainly not a god of love. Republicans left hundreds of thousands of victims of Hurricane Katrina without food, water, or shelter - after 10 months, many of them still remain without adequate assistance, despite the fact that some 120 countries offered money and material to help out. In fact, Republicans, who have practiced God's love by attempting to alienate every other nation on the planet, whined that other countries "never help us out" - and then took their time sifting through the immediate and sincere offers of humanitarian aid. No one seems to know where that money went.

Perhaps Mr. Mellor could explain the biblical sanction for lying about entering a war which has cost this country over $300 billion and drained our own ability to fight a local forest fire by taking our national guardsmen and equipment. Surely there are some Republican biblical references to the right of righteous christians to spy on their neighbors, stick their noses into our bedrooms, decide which American citizens get special rights over others based on nothing more than their minister's dictation, or scream about killing unborn babies but refusing to punish the men who impregate women. Are the activist judges they talking about the ones they spent millions of tax dollars shopping around to find when they decided the state and the federal government had a larger interest in the marriage of Terri and Michael Schiavo than Terri and Michael Schiavo?

It sounds to me like Mr. Mellor has a lot of fear, and yet expects an awful lot to be given to him simply because he's a white American who happens to like women. He also expects others to be punished for not being just like him, and he's so insecure that he fears for the survival of civilization if he can't dictate to a woman that she is property that must serve his authority through the government.

Perhaps he is most worried that a vote for Democrats might actually expose the fact that Mellor has supported every neo-Nazi, televangelista con artist, and money laundering felon - all in the misused name of God.

Real christians don't vote Republican. The country has finally figured it out.

20. The same Christian decency and honor and integrity in his heart
That George Bush touted? The honor and integrity of killing thousands of people for a war that they just wanted to "do"? The honor and integrity that is being witnessed by all the indictments for fraud coming down in the White House now? The honor and integrity of one more wolf in sheep's clothing?

I'd reply to all and nip this one in the bud with some of the ideas in the thread here.
