A caller into C-SPAN this a.m. had a great idea about oil/immigration

Caller thinks building more pipeline for natural gas and oil from Mexico would help resolve both the immigration problem and our high oil prices. Any thoughts on this?

3. Some say there is a mother lode of oil and gas in Mex. Makes your

mind spin about why we're where we're at. I start with the objective they (our own)have of bringing the U.S. down to a second and then a third world country. Part of doing that is getting rid of all unions, bringing all the wages down, making citizens more dependent, silencing them, withholding education, and getting them to taking over the care of each other.

This country needs those illegals to attain the objective while some of the corporations have and will move their businesses there. It takes time to flatten things out. What if they started drilling that oil now and the Mexicans went back for the work that oil involved - OR WORSE - what if they demanded U.S. oil rigging pay? It's all got to flatten out before they start drilling (and it's better to also have the oil in the ME as well). Has V.Fox and the U.S. agreed to this?

This administration is a fool for short term death type decisions - but the overall plan (like opening up trade to Russia and China - our ideological enemies took a long time) and is still in the plan. We bankrupt ourselves to meet the agenda or flattening? While China helps the illusion and the magic?

Some practical questions are - what pay level is their target? How far up will the Chinese increase the pay over there? Who gets to live in all the nice houses in the U.S. that will be vacated? Will any of the partners try to betray each other?

Too spooky? Then just write it up for a book or Sunday night movie.

4. I think most of Mexico's poverty problem comes from corruption

They have oil and other natural resources, arable land, and a *very energetic* labor pool. There is no other reason I can see for them to not be at least as well off as Canada. I'm afraid none of the money from the proposed pipeline would make it back to the people who need it. It's a really hard, and complicated case :(

5. Well, why can't the US threaten Mexico like it does Iran?

Either build the pipelines or we will send all the illegals back home and allow none to work in the USA...no matter what the cost.

6. It's the cost-benefit analysis

The near-slave labor offers more benefits to the corporatocracy than the Mexican oil potential. I don't think it would be wise to bring the war that close to home. Plus, we can't nuke them, they're our neighbor. That would pretty close to nuking ourselves ;)
