11. You knew that even though "neither" isn't a valid option
The first DUer who posted would want that option!

Far as I know there are only two choices on the ballot, and if you aren't going to vote for either of them, you aren't going to vote (well, unless write ins are allowed). Either way, there is no reason to even open this post.

there would have been other choices. Neither one is good.

19. I posted neither because both are republicons ...
Nagin conned the voters when he claims to have switched parties. Landrieu as far as I am concerned is just like his phony ass republicon sister Mary!

2. Don't know much about the race
Although Nagin rubs me the wrong way, especially since he endorsed Bush in 2000 and Jindal in 2003.

46. He strikes me as an "O"
for opportunist..

Like so many other republicans who decided that as a black democrat, they would be one of many, but as a republican, they would get plenty of air time, and no shortage of assistance from the party.

JC Watts & Condi come to mind.

The fact that they are willing to change the R to a D, in order to get elected only makes me more suspicious.
Whatever New Orleans ends up being, will be due to the money it actually gets and how much individual input is allowed..

I doubt that the mayor will have very much to do with it, no matter who wins :(

Voters Shift in New Orleans Mayoral Race

By MICHELLE ROBERTS Associated Press Writer
© 2006 The Associated Press

NEW ORLEANS — Mayor Ray Nagin and Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, beginning a monthlong run-off campaign for New Orleans mayor, will be fighting over the white conservative voters who favored other candidates in the primary.

Nagin, in a complete reversal from four years ago, scored heavily with black voters and was practically abandoned by whites, while Landrieu scored some black voters and did well with French Quarter residents.

Slightly more than half of the overall vote was attributed to black voters, who favored the top two candidates, according to a consulting firm analyzing demographic data for the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority.

Mary is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too far to the right, for my tastes. I don't live in NOLA, so my opinion doesn't mean jack shit anyway.;)

7. Nagin endorsed bobby jindal for Governor
jindal is a snot nosed little nazi bastard political opportunist republican. Mitch is to the left of Mary and will make a great Mayor for the big easy. I think limbaugh has been sharing some of his drugs with Nagin. He's made some stupid statements of late and freely plays the race card.

13. Use it with Gusto teammate!
The fucker has been in politics all his life and he looks all doey eyed and says I'm not a career politician. He got elected to congress and all the Nazis north of New Orleans love him. After Katrina he and damn near every other republican in the state instantly became compassionate democrats, thinking that the government should help its citizens. Quite a metamorphosis.

These are small town Republican State Lawmakers who feel that the Chancellor of State University System should earn a wage comparable to the average worker or a recent GOP candidate for the Department of Public Instruction, whose claim to fame was owning a combination resort and bait shop with unpaid withholding tax.

Too bad all of those Republican "connections" don't help him when he's seeking funds to repair the levee and rebuild New Orleans.

New Orleans needs Landrieu.

We had catfish, shrimp, and oysters at Middendorf's (Manchac) a couple of weeks ago. God was it ever so gooooood!

27. Hi Maddy!
We went to the French Quarter Fest last Friday. A rather small crowd but we had a great time. Incredible food and happy feet music. The Alpine Bistro had blackened catfish sandwiches lathered with Crystal Hot Sauce; they know the path straight to my heart. We are going back this next Sunday to "run" in the Bubba Gump 5k race then pig out on Shrimp Pasta and lots of beer. We are aiding the big easy one purchase at a time.

Its good to know that there is a medical facility in New Orleans which may be able to assist him. If you get the opportunity to stroll the quarter, please do so. The creative minds have been working after Katrina and the T-Shirts are a hoot.

and made sure everyone within ear shot of me knew that he was actually a republican. Anyone who can support Jindal must be a Nazi wannabe like him. Jindal's even worse than Perry, and that's saying a lot.

14. That arguement can be used to bolster Bush
And was used by some in New York after 9/11 in favor of extending Giuliani's term, even though he had to leave office in January 2002. I don't buy into "don't change horses midstrem" regardless of the candidate's party

45. It undoubtedly made the difference in '04.
I knew people who voted for Bush with this following logic:

"Well, things in Iraq might be pretty messed up right now, but since he got us in there he probably has a plan for getting us out and it would be risky to change administrations."

GOOD LORD! This sort of thinking leads to dictatorships!
