BUSH ties up Las Vegas traffic with his $2000.-a-plate luncheon

President Bush arrives at McCarran International airport in Las Vegas on Monday, April 24, 2006.

===
President Bush's quick trip to Las Vegas today is expected to slow the midday commutes of some valley drivers, who might face traffic tie-ups to make way for the president's motorcade around the Strip.

Bush's 11 a.m. appearance at The Venetian for a campaign fundraiser for U.S. Rep. Jon Porter, R-Nev., should result in rolling roadblocks in the resort corridor, brief flight delays at McCarran International Airport and tight security at The Venetian....

More than 250 people are expected to attend the invitation-only event, which is charging $500 to $2,100 per person to attend. The president is expected to be there for about 90 minutes, going directly to the event and then back to the airport.

Authorities would not disclose a precise presidential motorcade route, citing security reasons. But streets between The Venetian and McCarran could be closed with little or no warning for up to 15 minutes at a time as the motorcade passes through.

6. I hope he's stopped doing that
The last time Smirk did any work was when he declared war on Iraq.
