I don't watch the hate channel, so I wouldn't know. I'm surprised. I thought it was a crime of sorts for them to speak against each other in a public way...

impression that he is sending up trial baloons, to see what line of rhetoric will work today. He has that unsure look in his eye. And when a guest validates his point he then goes on a tear.

7. Scarborough is a loud-mouthed jackass. |
|
His criticism of Bush is that he hasn't been conservative enough and that he has ignored the wishes of his "base".
It's OK for Bush to pass inordinate tax cuts for the wealthy and initiate an unnecessary war in Iraq by lying to the American people. But Old Plain-Talking Joe faults Bush for a budget being in deficit.
Joe doesn't have much to say about the deaths in Iraq, the corruption in the Bush Administration, the torture, the wiretaps, the erosion of due process, the secret prisons, the renditions. He doesn't say much about the exhorbitant gas prices and the money the oil companies are making. He ignores the give-aways to the credit-card industry, the environmental degradation, the wages that haven't kept up with inflation. No, the problem is deficits...
Right Joe.
Why is a loud-mouthed partisan Republican like Scarborough even allowed to have his own TV show? What ex-Democrat has anything similar on national media? MSNBC trying to out-Fox Fox, I suppose. Sickening insipidity.

Very good analysis, I have the same assessment of this shameless Republican-talking head. It certainly not Joe's fault - he's been cheerleading Bush and the Republican agenda for the 63 months. But Joe knows how to read a poll and he needs to shine the spotlight away from his own culpability in helping to foist this corrupt agenda on the American people. How disingenuous of him to be criticizing his peers.

I can't stand that show or him so I didn't have it on. I'm afraid to turn on the eyeless shithead - I might throw heavy objects at my TV. What's Joe saying? Just a nibble, pretty please? :)

20. With the schedule change, you'll be seeing this more |
|
Scarborough Country just got changed to 9pm EST, right after the amazing Mr. Olbermann. If Rick Kaplan has just one brain cell left, he knows the audience flow from Mr. Olbermann to Scarborough are like water and oil. Thus, a few more statements from Scarborough to help keep some of the intelligent liberals watching after Countdown.
If Kaplan has two brain cells left, he'd know he should move Rachel Maddow from The Wasteland with Tucker Carlson (Wasteland because she's up against The Daily Show/Colbert Report tag team, thus her immense talent is wasted there) over to CO-HOST w/ Scarborough. Colmes is worthless, so MSNBC could do something and build a block to appeal to the liberal demo that just happens to be a majority in America right now.

and if MSNBC wants me to stay on they'd better get Aaron Brown or Randi Rhodes. I hate Rita, Scarborough, and the rich boy (with or without the bowtie).

Thus the schedule change.
But I still don't get it in terms of this change. Mr. Olbermann and Scarborough appeal to two entirely different demos. Therefore, people who watch Mr. Olbermann will shut off MSNBC right at 9pm EST (just like they did when Rita Cosby was on at 9pm EST) AND Scarborough Country gets an incompatable lead-in.
This is why Kaplan should get the fantastic Rachel Maddow and Scarborough to CO-HOST at 9pm. This would allow MSNBC to keep more of Countdown's audience while giving the 10p-midnight block of conservative crap a stronger lead-in. MSNBC can't get Dr. Maddow's target demo against Stewart/Colbert, so they really should take a chance with Maddow at 9pm. It really could become MSNBC's strongest show.
Of course, if Scarborough's ego won't allow it (a la pretty boy Lauer with dealing with Mr. Olbermann), then this latest schedule change is doomed.
