Is executing Moussaoui the best legacy we can leave our children?

If you were on the jury, would you favor execution or life in prison? What is your reasoning for you choice?

He's clearly trying to commit suicide by trial. For whatever reason, I wouldn't give him what he wants.

all of those who perished on 9/11, I say yes. If his execution will guarantee the end to future terrorist attacks, I say yes. Otherwise, I say no.

10. The prosecution showed tons of horrific photos of 9/11

and argued that executing him would provide justice for the victims and closure for the families.

I guess someone has to die for the attacks, even if it is a crazy person who already was in jail at the time.

The mad dash to execute, is insane. Once again a horrific crime has been committed and someone has to die for it. It makes no difference who, but someone must die. I've seen too many other cases where the shooter cops a plea, but the prosecutor has to put someone up for death, so it's the guy in the getaway car, or the one who made a phone call... They couldn't find Osama, so they make a big deal out of this schmuck whose greatest achievement in life will be to be a martyr in his own eyes by committing suicide at the hands of the feds he hates.

Aside from my ethical objections to capital punishment, trials like this make a mockery of justice. The prosecutor asked if this guy doesn't deserve death, who does? But, the Green River Killer didn't get it, Manson didn't get it, most rapists, killers, and others who could get it don't. The first Trade Center bombers didn't. Getting the death penalty is a crapshoot, not justice. It's not what you did, but who you did it to and where you did it. Kill someone in Massachusetts and you spend your life in the slam. Kill someone in Harris County, TX and they'll do their damndest to kill you.

I do not wish to give radical Muslims another martyr. That's exactly what Moussaoui will be if we execute him.
