"GOP Worries Gas Prices Could Add to Woes": NOT people's woes, mind you
These cretins only worry how it could play out for THEIR re-election campaigns. They fret that the GOP could lose control of government. Note that they could give a rat's ass how gas prices are actually impacting their constituency.

=====

WASHINGTON - Add soaring gasoline prices to the list of Republican woes. The high cost of filling up has become a political issue, and Democratic and GOP lawmakers were blaming each other Monday for a problem that is largely out of Congress' control.

Republicans said they were worried that voters paying more than $3 per gallon would punish the party in power. Democrats hatched plans to make that happen.

The fingerpointing came as lawmakers returned to Washington after two weeks in their home states, where they heard complaints from voters suffering from pump shock...

Republicans worry that this year may be different. Some said high gas prices could feed the public's sour mood about the direction of the country, underscore perceptions that the GOP is too cozy with big business and reflect voters' belief that nothing gets fixed in Washington — all grim signs for the party controlling both the White House and Congress.

1. LMAO. The Republicans too cozy with big business?
Knee pads are at a premium high for the GOP out of popular demand.

They sold out the middle class completely.

highway robbery being perpetrated at the pump with no relief in sight will be what it takes to wake up people who vote repuke because of the mistaken belief that repukes care about them and their families - in spite of copious evidence to the contrary. Abortion and gay marriage may not seem so important when you're shelling out $3.50 a gallon or more and your "President" tells you basically to fuck off.

3. Not unless Dems can promise relief
Sure it may win Dems a few elections but unless the Dems figure out a way to get the prices down, those newly elected Dems won't have approval of the voters for very long.

What is to stop Exxon-Mobile from collecting 35 billion dollar profits or more even under a Democrat congress?

right before the prices started going apeshit. Hit them in the pocket and freeze gas prices. Then regulation on what oil companies are doing, the heck with the honor system, they lost that with their greed.

5. Had Enough? Vote Democratic!
I need to make stickers like this for every pump at every gas station I use.
