1. I know of a couple more. |
|
The Right to Lifers are seriously getting involved. Priests for Life is heading out there to help in any way they can, and there's another paper, the North Country Gazette (I think that's right), that's doing a story on it (they have a website, too).
I think the lawyer is heading in a wrong direction--the hospital violated the law, so she should start there. It's the hospital's job to find a place to transfer her to, according to the law, not the family's.
I'm so upset about this whole thing. How dare those monsters even think that they're practicing medicine?! It's absolutely disgusting to me--that they're in the same profession as my husband and that he could be tarred with the same brush. I can tell you right now that my husband would never, not in a million years, do this to any patient, and I know that none of the doctors who trained him or trained with him would, either. It's disgusting.

2. Does Michael Moore know about Andrea Clarke's story? |
|
Moore is doing a film about the pharma/healthcare industry, isn't he?
Since this is currently unfolding--it would be great to have him covering this.
I cannot believe that this could happen.
It's just so evil.
I read through the entire post--at the link provided.
Are there other updates?

5. Yes,,, especially given the national hysteria over Schiavo... |
|
Here is a case where this woman is being killed against her will over the price of care.
I believe this is the Texas law that GWBush* signed when he was Governor. I also believe that during Schiavo, there was a child who was allowed to die against his parents wishes after being declared futile. My memory of that case is that it probably was futile, but it does show the hypocrisy of the "right to life" crowd.
I hope someone with connections can get Michael Moore's attention on this.

3. When i think about the press that Terri Shiavo recieved when in a total |
|
vegitatitve state, I have to wonder exactly what the RW fundies mean by "life." They seem to believe that fetuses and totally brain-dead people with the "right" political bent are the only ones deserving of life.

7. They're working on this one, too. |
|
They are getting involved and firing up their newsletter lists and all. They are on the same side as we are in this case, and we should be grateful they are marshalling their forces.
