2. I guess Bush has forgotten that the Almighty also set
up kingdoms centuries ago with His favorite rulers. It's shameful that he is using a form of government and God to promote his warring agenda.

3. General rule of thumb
It is a very rare occurrence for two stable liberal democracies to go to war.

9. Just because it hasnt happened yet...
does not mean it never will. The United States has never been at war with another democracy because it prefers to undermine such governments with clandestine covert operations.

12. Well Germany wasn't exactly a democracy by the 1939.
Then again neither are we right now. However we certainly use our proxy forces s to go to war against democratically elected governments, as in Nicaragua; we have overthrown quite a few Democracies we didn't like Chile for example, we recently attempted to overthrow the government of Venezuala, we are about to go to war with the republic of iran (yes I know it is only a limited democracy, but we are only a limited democracy,) we overturned the government of guatemala, we organized a coup against the Iranian government in order to install our buddy rizah pahlevi, oh the list goes on and on, the democratic government of the congo - we engineered a coup there and assasinated patrice lumumba, the greek military dictatorship of the late 60's early 70's, on and on and on.

14. Nazis got 44% of the popular vote in the last election
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_election,_1933

A dictatorship was established soon after. By 1939 Germany did not have any resemblance to a stable, liberal democracy.

16. That is a popular right wing myth.
See the other post on this and the link. When this comes up in conversation you should challenge it, pin down the person about what they mean by 'elected' first, as they may attempt to weasel out by claiming that they meant that his selection as chancellor was legitimate as the NSPD was the largest party. Get them to state that they mean that Adolph Hitler was democratically elected through a direct popular vote.

Then go read The Rise and Fall of the 3rd Reich and pay close attention to what actually happened after the 1932-3 elections. Then consider if in fact Hitler ever formed a legitimate government. He didn't.

17. Hitler did not win any elections damn it...
He was APPOINTED Chancellor by president Hindenburg after considerble pressure from his advisors. The Damn fools thought through Hitler they could control the Nazi party which held a good number of seats in the Reichstag. They were wrong.

15. Unfriendly democracies are called dictatorships.
Friendly dictatorships are called democracies.

That's how it works, and if you follow this piece of doublethink, then Bush's statement was 100% true.
