Now, read very carefully. I DID NOT SAY that anything on that Site is fact.
I just thought I would post something to lighten up the mood a bit. :)
It's an interesting Site, and nothing I've ever seen before.
As with everything on The Net, I am sure some of it is real, some of it is false.
I just got a kick out of seeing that.

20. My wife has been in the restaruant business for many years. It seems |
|
the richer the person is, the less they tip. I experienced that when i was a cab driver.
There are always exceptions to the rule.

Some of it is probably legit, some of it is just people being vengeful, angry and spiteful, and some of it is complete nonsense and fantasy.
But it is interesting nonetheless. :)

19. And how do you know it's all made up? |
|
Edited on Tue Apr-25-06 09:57 PM by TheWatcher
What are you talking about? The Site has nothing to do about making up numbers of anything, it's a Site where disgruntled waitstaff post about bad tips and customer experiences they had.
I can't understand why it rubbed you the wrong way.
If you have something constructive to add, by all means do it.
If you have nothing to offer but an attack, then keep it to yourself.
In other words:
LIGHTEN UP.

The bills are always sent to the White House.
Site's bogus on that score.

I just thought people would get a kick out of seeing that.
I imagine when he wasn't President, he never tipped anybody either.
Like I said above, it's probably bogus, but good for a laugh. :)
Besides, we all NEED a good laugh right now.

7. Good for you and your kind heart, |
|
but, like the Bush-bashing cartoons, it's no longer funny.
Things are too tragic and out-of-control and dangerous and deadly, and, while I wish we all could laugh, there's nothing funny about anything having to do with Fuckface right now.

9. I know how you feel my friend |
|
I saw some of your Posts over the weekend, and I must tell you I concur.
I know how bad things are getting, and the whole damn mess is spinning out of control.
There is so much happening at once that is is very difficult to even focus on one thing.
This is truly the 11th Hour for our country, and like you, I fear the worst.
As Morrissey of The Smiths once said, "That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore".
It's just Chaos.
But don't give up, my friend.
As I have always said, even if we go down, we go down swinging. :)

3. How in the world do people eat so much |
|
that they run up tabs like those shown there? Is it in alcoholic beverages? Sorry, but an expensive meal to me is paying $15 per person!
BTW, checked and found my hero, Sam Waterston, WASN'T on their list; didn't think he would be.

8. Be Careful with that Site |
|
Edited on Tue Apr-25-06 07:26 PM by TheWatcher
Like I said, it's addictive.
Some of the names I found I wasn't surpised by:
Jessica/Ashley Simpson Britney Spears Bruce Willis And check out the one for Ann Coulter. I got a laugh from that.
But I also found Samuel L. Jackson and Drew Barrymore which are both BIG WTF?'s for me.
Having met Miss Barrymore in person, I find that one hard to believe.

14. Depends...there's a $30 burger on the dinner menu at "The 21 Club" |
|
and the DB Bistro Moderne (also in NYC) has this item for $29: Sirloin Burger filled with Braised Short Ribs Foie Gras and Black Truffles Served on a Parmesan Bun with Pommes Soufflées or Pommes Frites.
And those are just prices for BURGERS! Although I'd be hard pressed to call anything stuffed with short ribs, fois gras and truffles any kind of "burger". Now, mind you, I haven't set foot in either of those places. I merely report on what is.
Then there's an exchange in a scene from The West Wing I always keep in mind. Mallory is trying to pick up the breakfast check at her father's hotel:
MALLORY Oh, let me pay for it.
LEO Yeah, but this is my hotel.
MALLORY Dad?
LEO How much does a cup of coffee cost here, Tony?
TONY Six dollars and 50 cents.
The kind of restaurants the rich and powerful frequent (and there are many in Washington, D.C. that would put NYC prices and excess to shame, if such a thing even seems possible, do a lot of "a la carte" items (as do many exclusive cosmopolitan restaurants) where you could pay $10 for a potato and $8 for asparagus to go with your $42 porterhouse. Dessert, cocktails, wines, and after-dinner liqueurs extra, naturally. Vintage wines and ports can run into serious bucks, so you're right, the liquor bill definitely has an impact here.
These people inhabit a different world than the rest of us on nearly every level. I say nearly only because so far, I haven't heard that they've got anyone to wipe their butts for them.

16. It is a different world |

I was lucky enough to get into a skybox at Madison Square Garden maybe 10 years back... I remember it was something like $100 for a pizza & $15 for pretzel!
