Berlusconi denies involvement in bogus yellowcake / Niger dossier over Iraq
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2006-04/26/content_4474363.htm

ROME, April 25 (Xinhua) -- The Italian government on Tuesday issued a fresh denial that Italy helped put together a bogus dossier showing Iraq tried to buy uranium in Africa, a forgery used to support the case for invasion of Iraq.

A statement from outgoing premier Silvio Berlusconi's office denied that the CIA had "provided confirmation or mere indications" of what the Italian press has dubbed "Nigergate" - that the Italian military intelligence agency Sismi was involved in fabricating a document from the African country of Niger. snip

In a front-page article, Tuesday's La Repubblica reported that the CIA's former chief of covert operations in Europe, Tyler Drumheller, "admitted" to United States news programme 60 Minutes that Sismi gave the United States the allegedly incriminating dossier.

"It is the first time a high-level CIA operative has declared, without hiding behind anonymity, that it was 'the Italians' who handed over and subsequently confirmed to Washington the fake documents in the dossier that enabled the White House to 'sell' the bogus claim of an Iraqi nuclear threat," La Repubblica said.

The Green Party, part of Romano Prodi's incoming centre-left government, reacted to the latest newspaper report by calling for a parliamentary probe into the affair and the possible involvement of the Berlusconi government.

4. Remember Nicoli Calipari? He Died Protecting The Journalist?
Edited on Wed Apr-26-06 05:21 AM by Binka
IMHO he was murdered because he was going to tell all about the Niger deal. His wife calls his death a "homicide." They sent him to Iraq to get Segrena so they could put a hit on him and make it look like someone was after the "kidnapped" journalist. He was shot in the back of the head by a crack sniper. He was a high ranking member of SISMI and not a part of Sivio's clique. His brother is a bio-med expert who also happens to be a high ranking priest in the Vatican. Nicoli was killed to keep a lot of people quiet. Berlusconi is freaked that all this is all gonna come out. That is why he is refusing to concede power.

5. If he can't bar the doors and resist eviction
he will face CONviction.

Watch this for hints of what we can expect in November if the machines screw the election up.

7. Ummmm, very interesting
I wonder what the people in Italy would do if they found out P2 was actually the ones behind the terrorism in the 70-80's and not the so called 'commie' Red Brigade as those operatives in P2 in the media claimed.

P2 is a WWII 'left behind' organization set-up by the 'Allies' as they anticipated the cold war, in truth starting the cold war with former allies. All of this was actually to try to keep the people from gaining the benefits from real democracy.

It's strange how so called 'enemies', the intelligence agencies in USSR and NATO countries were actually working together to fight their common enemy, that is democracy for the people. And each of them had the agenda of keepng control of each of their countries government out of the peoples hands. The intelligence agencies had a common enemy, the people.

Thats what these last 50 years or so is all about, thats the 'driving force' behind what's happened.

12. Michael LeDeen cooked it up and USED his Sismi connections to put it out.
I wonder if Fitzgerald has ever interviewed Michael LeDeen - BFEE propagandist planter extraordinaire.
