If, as some believe, displacing...
... the well entrenched, illegitimate, fascist regime we now have, cannot be done from within without a revolution...And further, if, as some believe, there just aren't enough citizens yet in sufficient pain under BushCo to mount a well organized revolt...And further still, if, as some believe, the sooner massive numbers of citizens do start feeling real pain under BushCo the better for our revolution, then, is Alito's inevetitable nomination to the Supreme Court really such a bad thing? Just askin.

1. Every rotten apple is bad
Alito will make a bad situation worse, imho. And I'm still not giving up on the Constitutional processes of elections and impeachment.

3. No question Alito will make...
...a bad situation worse. I just wonder if worse is what we need in order for our, to date, collective inaction to morph into the kind of nonviolent, noncooperation with this regime in the kind of massive numbers that might give us a chance to unseat them. Who knows. Good for you on not giving up on elections and the possibility of impeachment. My hopes are still there but expectations are not.

6. If you want mass demonstrations, that will only come
if they reinstitute the draft, I fear.

2. Saving the village by destroying it, isn't saving the village
There surely are some valuable lessons to be learned from America Inc. Too bad they won't sink in until there are voyages of the Starship Enterprise.

5. "Saving the village by destroying it, isn't saving the village"
I agree wholeheartedly and didn't mean to suggest our nation needs to be destroyed, but only to ask what it will take to motivate people to stop cooperating with this regime.

13. It will come from international blowback
The world is no longer silent, although ABC's World News Tonight will tell us about it. For an example I would read the speech of Evo Morales, the new president of Bolivia, that was given December 24th at the "In Defense of Humanity Conference"- http://counterpunch.org/morales12302005.html

4. The universe feels the pain of the entities that dwell within it... and it
will take appropriate action at the appropriate time. A miracle is due. Time to collect.

9. You know if you put you hand over a hot stove, it is going to
burn you. We don't need that kind of learning at this point.

We do have to be smart, and Karma will take its own path.

14. the current extreem
and violent 'natural' disasters speak that truth for everyone who has ears, and eyes to hear it-
the miracle may be the destruction of life as we know it- sad, but not without reason.

8. That's a lot of ifs
And I'm not eager to act out revolutionary fantasies.

Cheering people's suffering on the grounds that it will prove politically advantageous is also questionable from a Karma standpoint.
