We will no doubt need to be familiar with this method as Alito is going to be rubber stamped and Roberts is literally crazy.

1. Impeachment
Judges can be impeached, just as the President can be. I believe that appellate judges have been impeached and stripped of their offices, but I don't think any Supreme has been.

4. When the president is impeached, he hasn't lost his job
Would it work the same for Supreme Court Justices? Could they stay in office after being impeached?

(Bill Clinton was impeached but remained president)

9. Clinton was impeached by the house but not convicted by the Senate,
Thats why he wasn't removed from office. Same goes for the SCOTUS

12. Oh, I see now.... that wasn't clear despite all the news coverage
I guess the length and girth of Bill's penis, and the size of the stain on Monica's dress were more important to the news orgs.... :)

6. I listened all day to the hearings and disagree with your assessment
I don't see how he will not, unless he completely loses it on the stand and starts to beat his wife

It will be difficult for the moderates and others to vote no. He simply is not coming across as the monster he is.

7. I hope not, but.... look at Roberts - he's clinically insane
And he lied throughout his hearings and was shooed in, with Democrats stating how great a judge he will be. I'm not willing to make the leap of faith that Alito will be treated any differently, especially since he's already lying through his teeth with nothing coming of it.

11. A SCOTUS with Roberts in charge and Alito a member is truly scary.
This actually kept me awake last night, worrying about my children and their children.

13. I'm worried about ME, so having children must be a double worry
Damn. Didn't think of that since I'm childless.

3. Impeachment. Not very likely as long as the
Repubs control the House and Senate.

5. have them resign. LBJ did this --unfortunately -- with Abe Fortas.
But a strong Democratic president (utterly wishful thinking?) might be able to get the goods on Roberts and Alito and persuade them to resign, rather than have various truths come out in a restored press.

well, okay, so it is wishful thinking.

Conservative justices can do whatever the hell they want.
