Do you think the WH press corps will go easy on Tony Snow because |
|
he's "one of thir own?" I'm sure there will be a honeymoon, I'm wondering if it will be a permanent one. Chris Matthews (of course) said that he was a nice guy.
I've never watched Snow so I don't know how engaging he is or is not.

1. Nope because he switched sides and they will bust him for doing |
|
the WS PS job in the Faux News seat.

2. I agree about the honeymoon period, but it will cool off... |
|
The first couple of conferences will be nauseating. But after that, the press corps wil want to get down to business.

3. No. I can't wait for the first press conference. |

Snow is such a hypocrite. I'm surprised he's giving up his cushy Faux News job for the press secretary position especially when you consider that he had serious cancer surgery and treatment last year.

5. They go easy on everyone. If they didn't, we'd have a different 'leader." |

6. Nope. Here's what I heard this morning: |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-26-06 10:05 AM by sparosnare
As the little announcement wrapped up, Bush, Snow and McClellan started to walk away from the podium while reporters were shouting questions at them. The trio ignored them and exited the room. It was barely audible, but I heard someone say "it's started already". I doubt Snow will get the benefit of courtesy, in fact, they may be harder on him because they'll want to test him.

7. Would he say anything if pressured? |
|
These WH press conferences are a complete waste of time. They're paid to not tell you a damn thing. Stick a pencil behind the mic, it'll do the same thing.

12. I doubt if they consider anyone from Fox "one of them." |
|
Fox is not first and certainly not for the most part a news organization.
Most if not all of them know what Fox is.

14. Prediction - I'm betting that the live White House Press briefings will |
|
fade to black. Gone with be the live briefings. C-Span and White House streaming video will be a distant memory. During one of the news shows (Hardball with Gregory?) last night a question was posed "Was the WH press corp and the Press Secretary posturing for the cameras since they have gone live coverage?" (Somehow in Rethug World asking a real question is posturing for the cameras!) Does it help anything and should they go back to not televising them live. The guests kicked around the issue for a couple of minutes. I think we are being set up to see the Press Briefings much more controlled (you ask, how is that possible?) and the Snow Jobs will be done without benefit of C-Span viewers and the "internets" valuable real time input. Just a guess.
