So Snow is the new press secretary... Does this mean we can now
Officially say that Fox News is the propaganda arm of the Republican party and the Bush White House, and that the Bush Administration is only interested in spinning, lying, and fabricating?

This seems to prove it, doesn't it?

I hate to use this tired cliche, but imagine this:

Its early 1998, and Clinton announces his new pick as Press Secretary: Dan Rather of CBS...

1. Yes and no...

It does add further confirmation of what we already knew about FOX and the white house...

But for Snow - its more like going back to where he started...back to politics.

He's not someone I would consider to be a career journalist...like Rather...but good point!

9. To me its what it says about Faux News, mostly.
Even the fact that they hired as an anchor a former political speechwriter...

All the ties between this White House and Faux News, and this only seals it even more...

11. No apology needed...just something a lot of us are thinking about.
If this doesn't prove that Fox News is shilling for the GOP, what will?

Can you imagine what would have happened if Clinton had named Dan Rather as his Press Secretary?

3. He had his foot in the door for a long time....
Snow was a speech writer for Bush 41. So he already had his foot in the door.

7. I had heard that too. Makes Faux News even more suspect
Consider he was one of their cheif anchors, the Darth Vader to Brit Hume's Emperor Palpatine...

4. I think it would be more like Michael Moore not Dan Rather
I can't really remember any truly partisan reporting by Dan Rather. Maybe I am just biased but I know he asked some really tough questions at times but tell me when he actually spun the news in a partisan manner. I don't recall it ever happening...

5. Yeah but they think Dan Rather was incredibly biased.
The real RW nutcases equate Dan Rather with Michael Moore and Al Franken anyway

8. Dan Rather? More like Randi Rhodes.
Dan Rather is a news man. Tony Snow is a Rush Limbaugh fill-in host.

10. see above. The exterme right considers Dan Rather to be just as bad
and just as extreme as "radical" liberals like Randi and Michael Moore...
