Snow: "Racism no longer a big deal"
Edited on Wed Apr-26-06 04:11 PM by raysr
"Tony Snow, conservative pundit and incoming White House press secretary, told television viewers in 2003 that racism is no longer a "big deal," RAW STORY has learned.

Ironically, the remarks were made in defense of Rush Limbaugh's assertion that quarterback Donovan McNabb was overrated by a media showing preferential bias to "black quarterbacks."

"Here's the unmentionable secret," Snow said on an October 2003 edition of Fox News Sunday, "racism isn't that big a deal anymore." Snow argued that "no sensible person supports" racism, arguing that the problem is "quickly becoming an ugly memory."

Will Snow be another Harriet Miers?

1. He needs to go read the Craigslist Rants and Raves sometimes
if he actually thinks people don't support racism, or sexism, etc. Pretty much any online bulletin board, forum, blog comments section would bear out my claim that racism is alive and well. Of course no "sensible person" supports racism, but unfortunately, the majority of people aren't sensible, about that or about anything else. If he seriously is contending that, he's an imbecile.

2. He's Wrong
The name Reconquista isn't racist when it refers to Mexicans? I could think of a few other choice words used in this immigration battle, and I'm referring to all Latinos whether they're legal or not.

5. No Reason To Be Sorry
He could be lying. We'll have to wait and see the evidence.

6. My theory on the Bush admin. choosing Snow for the the job
He's made all those outlandish statements in the past, mostly about Bush. They want him up there for when the shit hits the fan, the press corp will focus more on Snow and his past statements instead of the fuck ups in the White House.
