Rawstory: Feingold introduces Amendment to redeploy Troops |
|
Good for him.
Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) today introduced an amendment demanding redeployment of U.S. troops currently in Iraq by the end of 2006, RAW STORY has learned.
The amendment is attached to an emergency supplemental appropriations bill currently being considered to fund ongoing military operations in Iraq.
<snip>
The appropriations amendment does not call for a complete withdrawal of all U.S. personnel.
"While this amendment recognizes the need for certain U.S. forces to be engaged in counter-terrorism activities, the training of Iraqi security services, and the protection of essential U.S. infrastructure," Feingold explained, "it also recognizes that the President's current strategy in Iraq is undermining our nation's national security."

Well damnit! That, the censure resolution, and other SUBSTANTIVE action is the kind of pandering that I Want! Pandering to the PEOPLE, not the corporations that these other nimrods value more.

6. Eleanor Clift said more DC Dems are expected to get behind withdrawal |
|
She said this about 3 weeks ago on McLaughlin Group while they were talking about Kerry's withdrawal plan. It was good to hear, since Eleanor is known for her closeness with Dem party insiders.
I don't think Kerry or Feingold will be left out to hang on this - too many are already heading their way or there now.

Actually - I know it's not possible - but I would love it if the admins would once and for all publish the IP addresses of people who 'write' for Rawstory and those that 'push' Rawstory. Personally - I am sick of them whoring clicks out of DU and see no need to lead with RAWSTORY = SCOOP.
It's bullshit.
And I wish they would call you on it.
