What Movie or Book Character is the Quintessential Republican?
I keep thinking of Paul Reiser's character in Aliens, where he hops into the escape pod at the first sign of danger. Also, professor Hathaway from Real Genius. Then of course, the main character from Wolfe's "Bonfire of the Vanities", but he comes around.

I know there's even slimier & smarmier out there, though.

54. If this is what we really think..
quin·tes·sence ( P ) Pronunciation Key (kwn-tsns)
n.
The pure, highly concentrated essence of a thing.
The purest or most typical instance: the quintessence of evil.
In ancient and medieval philosophy, the fifth and highest essence after the four elements of earth, air, fire, and water, thought to be the substance of the heavenly bodies and latent in all things

Then...we are in trouble.

I know some very good people who are typical republicans. The truly evil bastards have just manipulated the other more trusting ones.

This too shall pass. Instead of vitrol, speak truth to power structures and people and then change will really happen.

...from George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" novel series.

Cersei's incompetent, power-hungry, paranoid as all hell, and an "vile, evil, scheming bitch" to boot. Joffrey, her kid, is/was even worse: a spoiled, psychopathic animal torturer with no concept of love, kindness, or mercy.

Gregor Clegane runs a close second. An evil, vicious, insane bastard who murdered almost all of his family to gain power, and he enjoys rape, torture, and senseless violence. Once killed a baby in front of its mother's horrified eyes, then raped her and smashed her skull in.
