Freepers: Bennett and Matalin et al say Plame was well known as CIA
Edited on Thu Apr-27-06 12:14 PM by kingofalldems
So why haven't they rushed down to Fitz's office or the Grand Jury to testify to that fact? They could clear up this whole matter in just a few hours and save the country and their pals Rove and Libby a whole lot of trouble. So what is the deal freeps?

DUers know the answer.

1. They're just repeating the same old lies
If this were true, then why did this administration even order an investigation?

Yes, we know the answer, and anyone who says this is simply deluded or lying.

3. And the 32% still believe them
Whenever I turn on Faux it seems someone is either saying Plame wasn't covert, Abramoff gave money to Dems or Iraq was involved in 9/11.

8. LOL! They better be careful about saying that
So far, it seems like reporters that are claiming that they knew about Plame's identity before Novak's article have been getting subpoenaed. Ask Bob Woodward...

10. Freepers consistently show themselves incapable of dealing with the truth
That's why they love Bush** so much; he doesn't challenge them with fact.

13. Could you provide source? Is this recent?
Things are getting quite hot with Fitzgerald's second grand jury (a la Rove in particular), so I would be very interested in recent comments. Matalin was a member of the White House Iraq Group (WHIG) that was charged with "selling" the Iraq war--a group whose members could well be a perp list of the conspirators who outed Plame and Brewster-Jennings. (I'm not sure if Bennet was a member of that group. Was he?) Libby (already indicted) was obviously pursuing a strategy of "seeding" the information (about Plame/BJ) all around town--of making it APPEAR that "everybody knew"--to cover the deliberate disclosure of hers and BJ's names. This line of malarkey--that she wasn't covert--has been disproved, by Fitzgerald himself. Plame was a COVERT agent--and she was not the only one harmed. She headed a network of covert agents and contacts around the world--via the front company Brewster-Jennings--all of whose lives were put in jeopardy by Novak's disclosures.

So, if Matalin has been pushing this line recently, you've got to wonder why. Was she a conspirator? Is she part of a continuing conspiracy? What is her role? How much did she know then? How much does she know now? How guilty is she? And is she herself indictable?

Matalin has been all over the networks repeating the same lie. Seems coordinated. I'm just waiting for someone in the media to call them on it by challenging them to go and testify.

16. Yes - at cocktail parties.. the spooks are well known. Not because
Edited on Thu Apr-27-06 03:47 PM by applegrove
of what they say.. but how they say it. In a town where there are lots of spooks - Plame would be well known. But access to that information would not go to ambassadors or any outsiders (cause other than ambassadors or ambassador's spooks - who again are well known to the cocktail circuit) nobody gets in.

So to say that someone with a vague job description and in a world where job descriptions and ideas and power and details and hints and debates and superficial chat takes place.. they all know.

Always the way it is. If you think that the people who make it into power circles are not perceptive or good at pooling information or assesing.. look at the pictures of Hillary at Fox here on the DU, or Begalia claiming to friends with Rove. Did ya think Matalin and Carville go to separate parties?

I bet the cocktail circuit in Washington could out at least 5000 agents. Do they? Nope.

Wife: "he's hard to talk to"
Husband: "that is because he is a spook"
Wife: "that explains it".
Husband: "leave him alone".
