Doesn't the Bush family remind you of the Malfoy family?
(repost from awhile ago)

Both are rich, corrupt-to-the-core families with lots of political influence and ties to really evil people (the Bushes to Hitler, the Malfoys to Voldemort). Of course, that would make Cheney and Rove Crabbe and Goyle. Lieberman would be Snape, since he's a backstabbing traitor.

1. No way is Snape a traitor.
He'll be redeemed in the end. He's on double-cross undercover. Sez me.

2. Agree. Snape's not a traitor
and correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it revealed or implied that the Malfoy's are being coerced? The Bush's are not being coerced--they are pure evil.

3. I think you are right
But why does Dumbledore limit him so much? Hmm.

6. I have said for years
that the republican party is reminiscent of every antagonist in any children's movie or book. I mean just look at any Disney flick. Their "values" are the values of the bad guys.

7. On a much shallower note,
You have to admit that the Malfoys are a both a very handsome and intellegent family whereas the Bushies are ugly to the bone and dumber than dirt.

Just an unfortunate 'koinkidink' (for us average Americans, that is) that they are as well connected (to largely criminally-minded elements) and monied as they are.

11. Nah, the Malfoys seem to have principles
And when they're caught out, they generally take their punishment. The Bush family, on the other hand, is corrupt to the core, respect no principle beyond "me first, last and only" and even when caught red-handed, refuse to acknowledge fault or accept responsibility for their heinous crimes.

Additionally, the Malfoys, being a work of fiction, have some credibility and believability. The Bushes are, . . . well, not.
