Woohoo - I got interviewed today by CBS Radio 880AM NYC!
I was one of many student leaders of the Rutgers Student Rally in Trenton today this afternoon. I'm on Rutgers College Governing Association (largest student government of Rutgers) and we helped organize this event. There are 169 million dollars proposed to be cut for higher education across the state, and we're fighting to get it back.

Anyways, I was guarding a section that was blocked off to people (handicap walkway) and a reporter from CBS Radio 880AM NYC asked me for an interview. I answered about 5 or 6 questions, for a good 4-5 minutes total. My name is Michael Convente, so check out CBS Radio 880AM NYC (if you're in the tri-state area) and see if part of my interview comes up during the every-20-minute news briefings!

Also, my personal friend and the main leader of this rally, Sharo Atmeh, was interviewed by NJ12 television news, so if you're in NJ, check that out too!

3. Also, the website
http://www.RUStudentRally.com

I posted a thread on this in the New Jersey forum - it should be near the top still. We are facing a budget crisis in NJ, I can't deny that. But it's a fact that for every $1 invested into higher education in NJ, $5 is returned to the economy. In order to compete with U-Wisconsin and U-Mich, we need to continue funding out state institutions, especially Rutgers, the flagship state university.

If you live in NJ, please sign the petition. I personally support Governor Corzine on a lot of issues, but I feel we can find other ways to reduce the deficit, such as raising taxes on wealthy people (of which we have A LOT of in NJ) and such.

Thanks for your support!

4. What do you need higher education for??
The only jobs that will be available thanks to the GOP are with WalMart, The Militray, or McDonalds anyway! :+
