Maybe a couple thousand for higher heating/cooling costs, too?

How much to shut up about high grocery prices?

Oh yeah, the war...we might shut up about that too, if the price was right...

All this $100 bribe offering proves is that Tom DeLay's already consulting for the RNC.

7. And another stealth attack to push through drilling for oil in Alaska.
How many ways are they willing to try to push this through? So now they're trying to bribe the American people with a lousy $100 so they can get into the wildlife refuge for oil. It's also a political ruse, so they can tell their constituents that they tried to get them some money back, but the evil Dems were against it.
Disgusting!

4. Republicans are at a loss in how to deal with the gas-price crisis.
They are hearing from their constituents. They can offer no solution.

So what do they do? They try to buy support from Americans with the $100 refund.

9. Some of us don't qualify as 'taxpayers'...
I'm on disability and below the poverty line income-wise so I don't make enough to pay taxes. Bet I ain't the only one, but we still have 'pain at the pump'. And we VOTE too.

11. Dennis Kucinich has the right idea
“Congress must break the hold that the oil companies have on the politics of our country. The American people are demanding action. The price of gasoline has climbed to over $3 a gallon, heading towards $4 a gallon and maybe $5.

“Since 2001, the five largest oil companies have made over $280 billion in profits. Exxon Mobil alone made $36 billion in profits in the last year.

“There is only one way to stop the oil and gas companies from an endless series of increases in the price of gasoline.

“Almost fifty Members of Congress have now signed onto my bill, HR 2070, for a 100% excess profits tax on oil companies’ profiteering.

“This act does not tax the price of gasoline, so it will not increase the cost. However, by taxing excessive profits, it puts the brakes on price gouging and will lower the price of gasoline.

“Congress can not stand by while the oil companies are stealing from the American people.”
