9. I can't believe they never thought this day would come. |
|
They must write a book, someday, to explain WHY they thought they were invulnerable.

Also, for everyone's sake I sincerely hope Rove leaves his hard one in the hat.

5. Yeah, you have to wonder why these Rove leaks that he is worried |
|
about legal jeopardy. Here's one hypothesis: He's trying to create some sympathy among Bushites/Repubs for what is really going on--he's ratting on others to save himself--that is, that his multiple appearances, and the recent very long appearance, before the grand jury, do not mean that he will be indicted, but that he is squealing to AVOID an indictment, or in a bargain for lesser charges. Keep in mind that the Plame/Brewster Jennings outing was conceived and orchestrated by Cheney and very likely by Rumsfeld, with at least knowledge of Bush and Rice. It's big. It is in fact treason. Rove may be a relatively minor criminal in this conspiracy. Libby may be more culpable--and Libby is clearly obstructing Fitzgerald, to protect Cheney and possibly Bush.
We'll see what happens. All we can do is stay tuned. But I think this "Rove is worried" thing is strange and provocative (of speculation).

6. Possible, but the GJ questioned Rove for 3 1/2 hours yesterday. |
|
That sounds more like Fitzgerald has got him by the short hairs and he's squealing.
