This is sad:

The same damn thing happened during the Cindy Sheehan vigil. Nothing. Chicago is complacent.

It snowballs, too: Who wants to go if noone else is?

1. That happened in one area during the Organizing day, but people were going
They just did not sign up on the internet, did not bother or weren't on the net.

The area where they were had a quite a number show up, but 0 were signed up. SO don't despair.

Our area though is very complacent and sort of resigned to things never changing here. We are trying, but it is hard.

3. I felt the same way until recently..
everything changed because a Democrat in my district just started a campaign! Don't give up if no Democrats are running in your congressional district, then campaign for a Democrat running for the Senate or a state office!

8. It may be because my critters are Durbin, Obama, and Schakowsky.
All my state reps except Topinka are dems.

9. that leaves you two excellent options..
Edited on Fri Apr-28-06 07:59 AM by flaminbats
you can work for the Democrat running to now get elected in you're state House seat. Or try the campaign for this Democrat now running to replace Topinka as your state Treasurer. Remember..that position is up for grabs now that Topinka is running for Governor! http://www.alexiforillinois.com/

At least you have some Democrats to support, and some who can win! There are no Democrats running for the state House or even local office where many of us live! :(

4. It's worse in my district. I'm the only one walking in my precinct
and the adjoining precincts. As soon as I finish the precinct I am walking. I will get to work on another. got to burn off that winter weight.

5. Not my area either
And only 11 in Eugene. I'm rather shocked. I thought this is what everybody wanted. I don't get it.

6. There will be another event like this in July. Dean is persistent.
He is going to get the Dems off their butts and working. We have quite a few signed up in our area....but a lot more are signed up at the county websites. The Florida Democratic party has a drop down menu with a link to each county to sign up....so go anyway and people will probably show up.
