23. Why Do I Hate Bush
Hello, fellow Democrats. I'm "Ringo" (it's my nickname), and this is my inaugural post on DU. I'm a 22 year old college student. Looking forward to discussing the issues with you all.

Why do I hate Bush (or, as I call him, Jack*ss)? Well, I think he's a right-wing, fundamentalist Bible-beater. A liar who has used 9/11 to suit his own right-wing agenda, which thus far has included taking away our civil liberties, starting unnecessary wars, and calling anyone who disagrees with him an America hater and a traitor.

What I don't understand is why conservatives don't hate Bush too. Aren't they the ones who don't want a "nanny government"? Who are always talking about dishonest politicians and their angendas? I guess that they were so scared after 9/11 that they suddenly forgot their high-sounding words about our Constitution and how sacred its freedoms are.

I agree with what someone else said. Why not hate him? He has done more to harm this country, our values, and our freedoms in (almost) six years than practically any former President. McCarthy would be proud.

Ringo

38. Re: Hate is poison
Yeah, you're probably right. My anger has actually prompted me to start getting a backbone. I have a tendency to not express my political opinions because I'm worried that I'll offend someone. In recent weeks, I've been a little more outspoken.

It's encouraging that we're not the only ones dissatisfied with Bush. We could really use that to our advantage. Even some staunch Republicans are beginning to turn on him.

39. Democrats can't allow this opportunity to slide away!
Republicans in Congress, in state office, and those who don't hold office..are reluctantly making excuses for this President's destructive actions. And yet Democrats can attach these incumbents for passing this idiot's deficits, for cutting needed revenues even as 9/11 was happening, and for starting another war with a country that only made things worse for our troops in Afghanistan!

we need to make Republicans pay the price for opposing a longterm energy policy, for cutting taxes at a time when our troops needed support, and for blocking votes or any open debate over these issues in the House or Senate. Time to make these incumbents give the voters some explanation!

People like him are parasites on the rest of society, and should be dealt with harshly, as a warning to all other potential parasites.

Seeing the picture of him swinging a hammer today I had an idea, when we imprison him why not set him to labor, in service to the poor, for the rest of his life. He could build homes for the homeless, dig wells in Africa, help foster sustainable development in the world. I think it's an appropriate punishment ATM.

Of course, his family's ill-gotten gains would have to be confiscated, mob money you know, and distributed as best as we can to those they took it from. Can't pay back the blood, unfortunately.

From his boorish arrogance to his prideful ignorance, from his 'with me or against me' outlook to his overweening sense of entitlement, from his cynical manipulation of 'patriotism' to his carefully stage-managed, phony 'public appearances', Bush IS America viewed in a dark mirror.

47. IME hate hurts the one who hates more then the one hated. Anger can be
a great motivator OTOH and when the energy behind anger is put into ACTION (instead of festering inside) it can literally change the world. B-)

Soo... although I don't choose to waste my very limited energy on hating Bush I do use it to be angry enough to be very very motivated and active in getting the word OUT to the American people, writing to my representatives in congress about important issues and getting he and his neo/fundie-CONs and OIL cabal the real justice so very richly deserve.

48. Why do Americans love to hate?
What possible good comes of it? Frankly, it's shameful. Why hate? Why not actually live the concepts of respect and dignity, and oppose that you do not agree with, rather than hate?

I find opposition to be a lot more constructive than hate.
