Is there any evidence that Alito's father was an immigrant?

There was a diary at The Daily Kos a while ago which showed that military records showed Alito's father was born in New Jersey.

At the Senate hearings just shown on "The Daily Show," Alito said his father came here as an infant.

Is there any proof of that?

5. It's important because...
...Alito's opening statement was a chronicle of his family life. If he lied about his heritage -- he's basically a liar. This would not serve him well in being confirmed for the highest court of the land.

4. It's Sure Tough For A Baby To Do That All Himself
Incredible story

When I first heard this tripe, I thought they were about to start confirmation hearing for Mario Cuomo (I wish!)

Yep, it musta been a real struggle for Daddy Alito...poooping up those cloth diapers and crying very loudly on the boat. Some, like me grandfathers and grandmothers, had to leave lives, villages and a progrom with whatever they could carry. Alito is no "immigrant's son"...just more lipstick on a stuck pig.

6. My Grandfather Was a Brave Toddler Escaping the Bolshevik Revolution!
Sure, it was his brother the Tsar was tying to conscript, but he no doubt was the one who lead the family to Canada and then to Michigan...
