Do you wanna know why we are paying so much for gas? |
|
I actually spoke politics with my republican step-father today! When I brought up the fact the Wyden was filibustering he was outraged! Why? Because we are taxing/charging the oil companies too much! Plain and simple, because big oil has to pay so much in taxes they pass it down to us in the prices. We need to stop taxing the the oil companies, it will solve all of our problems!
Okay, I just don't see the republican logic anymore, I give up!

get all of those subsidies from the government. They were trying to make it sound legit, but when they make so much money, why can't they pay their own bills?
And I wonder how much they *actually* pay in taxes. I'm betting that, if they pay any at all, that the amount is nowhere near what they should be paying.

...but this sounds like the standard Republican 'blame anyone/anything but the party' mentality. It's so...pathetic. And it's destroying our country.
But it's nice to have you here! Welcome. :)

6. Taxes have not increased for the gas and oil cos at all. PROFIT TAKING |
|
HAS. There is a chart on this site, scroll down, that outlines how costs for PROFITS AND MARKETING have risen. Every other cost has remained fairly static except for their own internal costs. http://www.energy.ca.gov/gasoline/margins/

7. Why wasn't that a problem 5 years ago? |
|
Do you all realize that 99% of what we pay at the pump is actually taxes? Also, there is more oil in ANWR than in all the Middle East but the environmentalists won't let us touch it. It's a fact, just ask Sean Hanitty! :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:
